have done a Bad Thing

this annoying woman always blocks 3 - 5 cars in by being late and parking across the exit, you can either back onto the main road at an angle which makes it impossible to see any oncoming traffic, or you can wait patiently

or you can do this Bad Thing which is to repeatedly bump into the back of her car, totally pointlessly because she is not in it, with your hand on the horn for continuous sound effects to harmonise with revving of engine, before getting out of own car and finding her and, um, screaming in her face

then when her horrible orange car has finally moved out of the way, complete own humiliation by doing a childishly loud wheelspin and whole thing witnessed by just about everyone

I have done this Bad Thing

but how bad is it? can I ever go out again?

Is this at work or school?

dustystar · 19/11/2007 19:41

Ah - then good on you you have done what many of us would like to do but chicken out of.

vacua · 19/11/2007 19:41

um school

forgot to say that there was a passenger in the car, an elderly lady

what if have given her whiplash?

OP posts:
dustystar · 19/11/2007 19:43

in your car or the car you bumped?

QueenBhannae · 19/11/2007 19:43

Wow, did you cause any real damage?

LuckySalem · 19/11/2007 19:44

You may need to be careful about whether she involves police. What with there being a passenger and she may say there's damage done to her car (even if there isn't)

however, you've done what many if not all of us would want to do. (and very few would have done) Personally I would have just beeped the horn a few times. But well done anyway, just watch your back.

vacua · 19/11/2007 19:45

my car has a crumple in the bonnet, I was ramming her tow bar with my usual common sense (!) - but I already had one big dent in it anyway and a new bonnet has been on the list for a while, her car totally unscathed except by being ugly to begin with

You go girl - have totally done something we only ever wish would have the bottle to do! If anyone says anything - just say the car is going into garage to get clutch sorted

PrincessSnowLife · 19/11/2007 19:47

seriously?

TellusMater · 19/11/2007 19:47

You rammed a car with some in it?

miobombino · 19/11/2007 19:48

What I'd love to do to a regular inconsiderate driver near ds3's nursery is superglue her wipers to the windscreen...seriously...

If you met me you'd never think I could even think such thoughts.

Either that or key her paintwork with the word B - - CH.

But I won't.

lululemonrefuser · 19/11/2007 19:49

No, not okay at all ...

I can't quite believe anyone would actually do this. Is this for real?

vacua · 19/11/2007 19:50

I did

I had people in my car too

I feel really really ashamed and worried about the elderly lady, and also incredibly embarrassed about putting my face an inch from hers and screaming into it

I think I have developed a dangerous rage disorder

OP posts:
PrincessSnowLife · 19/11/2007 19:51

you lost the plot then??

dustystar · 19/11/2007 19:52

If the old lady was in the car you bumped then I feel differently as it may have really frightened her.

TellusMater · 19/11/2007 19:52

I think you need to see your GP. Seriously.

artichokes · 19/11/2007 19:52

That doesn't sound OK to me. It sounds like criminal damage to the car and some sort of assault to the passenger. Did you realise there was a passenger in the car?

It might be worth doing something about your temper if it gets so out of control that you would risk injuring another person in road rage.

PrincessSnowLife · 19/11/2007 19:52

agree - see gp

dustystar · 19/11/2007 19:53

bugger - aol is driving me mad - everything is so slow!

LuckySalem · 19/11/2007 19:53

vacua - if I was you, i'd apologise to the woman and the elderly lady tomorrow (if they're there) and ask them politely not to park as they do. Just say you had bad PMT and that was why you behaved.

Next time...... count to 10?

dustystar · 19/11/2007 19:54

Did the driver of the orange car say anything to you before she drove away?

Pennies · 19/11/2007 19:55

Totally out of order of you. Great example to the children that I presume were around as well.

vacua · 19/11/2007 19:55

I lost the plot, yes, completely

I know it's not ok to behave like that - usually I would be too worried to cause a scene even by asking her to move the car

it's not an excuse but I did have to get into Cambridge to visit my daughter who has been in hospital for quite a few weeks now and who had a worrying relapse, that's what I screamed actually 'MY DAUGHTER IS CRITICALLY ILL, WILL YOU P L E A S E MOVE YOUR CAR'

but argh at utter loss of self control

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 19/11/2007 19:57

vacua - you were obviously under stress but you still need to apologise and make sure everyone is ok.
