To enjoy cheap chocolate?

Just had a Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut chocolate bar 🍫- it was delicious!
I actually much prefer this cheap type of chocolate from the supermarket to ‘posh’ chocolate like Godiva, Leonidas etc.

AIBU for preferring the cheap chocolate and does it mean I have a horrible and cheap taste in chocolate?

I don't necessarily agree with the term 'cheap chocolate'

IMO it all comes down to ingredients used and recipe. ALDI does good quality chocolate which is not expensive and it's delicious. Same with M&S

I love Ritter too!

Haven’t had it in ages but I believe they sell it here too. Might buy that one next time !

Aldi's own fruit and nut is my absolute fave.

I found a lone, escaped, Lindt salted caramel truffle in my freezer yesterday. Yum. Had it been Cadbury's, it would still be there.

It's not about "posh". Nobody on this thread is recommending very top end chocolate.

Aldi and Lidl own brand are not "posh". Neither is Lindt or Ritter.

I love Cadburys too but I can only find it here when Aldi have their British Week promotion. When I wheel up with my trolley full of Dairy Milk, I feel compelled to explain to the checkout lady why I'm buying so many bars.
Brexit has put an end to my UK chocolate suppliers (parents). Both Easter hoards got returned by customs and instead of feasting on my favourites I was tortured by pictures of the Mini Eggs when they arrived back in England.

You're not being unreasonable to eat the things you like, no.

I don't like cheap chocolate, but I avoid any with unsustainable palm oil so my choice is limited anyway. Tony's Chocolonely is my fave.

@DrCoconut

Chocolate is such a minefield for me now, so many including lots of Cadbury's are may contain for gluten

A lot of the M&S and ALDI ones are gluten free (ALDI has a downloadable gluten free list on their website - it's not on the Coeliac UK app)

Montezuma are a delicious mid-range option as well (many of their bars are gluten free)

I love Cadbury's fruit & nut, but what I really can't stand is Thornton's. I have no idea why their chocolate is so popular and how the shops / brand has survived. It just tastes like sweet lard to me.
