To tell (yell at in weird, slightly hysterical voice) my son that if he doesn't stop whinging right now, he's going straight to bed?

Because he's driving me NUTS.

Wailing and pretending to cry over some stupid tv thing.

I am grinding my teeth and threatening to send him to bed right now, without the fish & chips dh is going to bring.

Now he's just whimpering quietly.

hhrrrrrrrrrrrrr

bonkerz · 19/11/2007 18:06

my moaning 2 year old went up at half five and my grumpy 7 year old is going in 5 minutes!!! YANBU but remeber to be firm. He will not starve if sent to bed now and may learn you mean what oyu say!

Hekete · 19/11/2007 18:06

Now my next question.

Is it unreasonable to staple him to the ceiling and leave him there till morning, with a sock in his gob?

  1. If he is over 18, yes

  2. If he is over 18, no

mazzystar · 19/11/2007 18:09

no you are not being unreasonable

i get to the stage where i really genuinely cannot bear the whinging any longer

i can't believe its only monday

sigh

YANBU. I threaten my son with a premature bedtime if he is being really silly. It usually sorts him out.

miobombino · 19/11/2007 18:59

Confession...my nearly 4yo has just gone to bed after I persuaded him it was "Really late, nearly 8 o clock !"

Now where's that corkscrew ?

YANBU. I have just yelled something similar at my ds, who is 11 and at secondary school DH picked good moment to phone home from business trip to France, just as I was hyperventilating. He gave him an additional bing from 1000 miles away!
