Last night I was so hot, I couldn't sleep. So, I grabbed a pillow and slept on the grass in the garden. I got darked on and spiders rubbed their willies on me. And so did my washing that I left out.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣ewwwww!

Grapewrath · 03/06/2021 20:51

Why not just ask if someone’s ok though rather than if they’re on glue? Which they’re very unlikely to be. Surely by using that expression they think it’s clever/amusing?

I can’t believe on a thread full of this bilge, “are you on glue?” is the post that has jumped out at you as being nonsensical and irritating. 😅😂🤣

@Sparklfairy

Awww you can tell which MNers are newer here Grin
I thought that too! Makes me feel old!
Exhausted4ever · 03/06/2021 20:57

I literally put my washing out in the late evening tonight so it can get dry first thing and I have time to get it in and sorted and potentially put another load out in the late morning. Spider Willie's and darked on be damned. I wouldn't sleep on the bloody grass though! I'm not a frigging dog

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 03/06/2021 20:59

My friends camping at the moment t a d said she slept outside the tent as it was to stuffy and gross inside it , I was like you got darked on you need tablets now , she didn't understand at all !

Littlebluebird123 · 03/06/2021 20:59

@blaisealex

Despite the other mners who don't seem to get it. I do, and it made me giggle. I hope you managed to sleep better outside.

Also, I do think the antidote would be a Zoflora shower as a pp said. Grin

I think I'd be too worried about other creepy things than spiders and their willies but if it helped, great.

Sparklingbrook · 03/06/2021 21:00

I put my washing out around 6am. I never leave it out overnight, it's just not the same IMO.

Grin was thinking the same. Feel old now!
Grapewrath · 03/06/2021 21:02

The thread is lighthearted enough (if a bit strange) . The ‘are you on glue’ always stands out to me as someone trying to be clever whenever it pops up Smile

MalbecMakesMeHappy · 03/06/2021 21:03

This has made me chuckle. Had completely forgotten about getting darked on Grin

Can't you just. Bristly bunch aren't they 🙄

IHateCoronavirus · 03/06/2021 21:08

@LuckyWookie Shock did that really happen?
DC want to camp out in the garden tonight! I’m not so sure anymore.

RickiTarr · 03/06/2021 21:11

No, I think it’s those of us who have been here 15+ years who sometimes get peed off listening to the penis beaker level stuff.

You won’t understand if you don’t remember when MN was witty.

You’re right though, must grit our teeth.😬

LuckyWookie · 03/06/2021 21:14

LuckyWookie shock did that really happen?
Unfortunately yes. Also remember the murder of Sophie Hook, who was taken from a tent in the back garden aged 7. I would not allow DC to camp outside.

chezbot · 03/06/2021 21:17

Laundry getting "darked on" was one of my favourite threads, thankyou for the reminder OP

BeardyButton · 03/06/2021 21:23

This made me laugh. But then it reminded me of the time I stood under a tree, waiting for my kid to finish school. And 5000 spider babies decided to vacate their tree nest for my head and shoulders.

Traumatic.

SuperCaliFragalistic · 03/06/2021 21:26

Without wanting to dismiss the horrific murder of sophie hook this was a random, isolated incident that gets brought out every summer when someone suggests sleeping in their garden. Enjoy your gardens guys and don't be paranoid about something that is less likely to happen than a meteor strike.

SuperCaliFragalistic · 03/06/2021 21:26

misses point of thread

whatwasIgoingtosay · 03/06/2021 21:29

My very own spiderlings that live in my bathroom.

Mummyoflittledragon · 03/06/2021 21:36

@Sparklingbrook

If you sleep on the grass in the garden wouldn't you wake up a bit erm, moist? The dark and the spiders would be the least of my worries. YABU.
Moist from the spider willies.... I’ll get my coat.
Sparklingbrook · 03/06/2021 21:38

No, I was thinking moist from the grass. Grin

IHateCoronavirus · 03/06/2021 21:39

Bloody hell @LuckyWookie thank goodness you are ok!

Mummyoflittledragon · 03/06/2021 21:40

I know Grin

Dontstepinthecowpat · 03/06/2021 21:46

You forgot to put lighthearted in the title. Remember when MN was fun and not full of professionally offended? You’ve raised a smile in me so thanks for that and I’m glad you survived the dark!
