You do not need to let your child poop in a potty in the middle of a food court where people are eating?

At Clarks village in Somerset where the toilets are clean very roomy and 10 feet away from the food court, 3 adults so enough to watch other children and shopping sat at the table (not eating) and they get out the potty for a child of about 3, let him, sit on it in the middle of the food court (2 tables away from us) and let him poop, (he told them he needed to poop).

I think it is just disgusting to be honest when the toilets really were no more then 10 feet away and people were eating.

DH was not impressed either.

It is as mad as expecting women to bf in toliets!

One of the last times dh and I were in the chemotherapy unit some stupid, stupid women started to change her babies shitty nappy in the middle of the floor, when there was a toilet 10 yards from her.

And this is a room full of people with cancer, who were already feeling sick at the thought of having chemo. many of them also have poor immune systems.

Even this woman's sister thought she was out of order and told her to use the loos. (neither of them had cancer btw, they were in with their mother)

Yucky!! Do some peopl have no standards!!

MioMao · 19/11/2007 08:56

yes that is gross, they should have at least taken him away from the eating area. I presume they had to go to the toilets anyway to empty the potty?!?

my 2.8 year old has recently potty trained, but she won't perform in a public toilet as she is absolutely terrified of noisy hand-dryers. I would at least attempt to find a quiet corner somewhere before producing the potty. A child needs to learn to hold on for a short while when out and about, surely that's all part of the process.
