Sun out-dickhead neighbours out. What are your neighbours doing today to annoy you? (lighthearted

My neighbours do my head in year round as they are so bloody entitled in general but when the sun is out it's worse. Loud music, they can't talk, they shout to each other and when they have visitors it's even worse and that's before they get the outdoor fire going and force us indoors after quickly getting the washing in.
I have massive sensory issues with noise due to possible ASD (awaiting assessment) so I know IABU and need to find ways to manage. Unfortunately moving to an island isn't an option although I did eye up that advertisement for a caretaker of an unpopulated Scottish island with interest and wish I could live somewhere like that.
What are your neighbours up to today that's annoying you and how do you deal with it? Stereo wars? Hosepipes at dawn? Penguin bollards (CFs have been known to park on or across my drive and then make out it's me being unreasonable), playing the sweariest music you can find at full volume? I'm not actually going to do anything but humour me here.

I am gutted as we fell.out with next door last night over their music. They have spent a lot doing up their garden as have we and obviously we both want to use them.
They often play music though (a lot of.it seems.to be trance) and that means I can't relax with a book. However, I normally go in at that point.
They are having friends round all the time.now and playing music to the level that you can still hear boom boom over the tv with the doors and windows closed.
2 hours solid on Friday accompanied by loud conversation. Yesterday, it started at 5 pm and even turning my tv up.really loud I could still hear the music.
DH went round to ask them.to just turn the music down a bit at 8.30 and got a filthy look and ushered out of their garden.
A full.on screech along with kareoke then ensued along with their loud music. At 1030 we had to go and sleep in a spare room.
They packed up at midnight.
Normally, if we have any neighbourly niggles we talk them out. He drums, we said we could hear them, we had a civilised chat and he put in some soundproofing and we agreed a free night a week to band practise (he is 53!) And he agreed to finish at 9pm.
I am.not wanting them to not use their garden or not have friends round. Hell, they can siing and chat, it is just the music.
I want to enjoy my garden too!!

My retired neighbours have been slowly mowing the lawn all day. Really loud mower. Can't help wondering, since they are free all day everyday, why they chose Bank Holiday Monday to do it, just when all their working neighbours want to relax in the sun. I have been sitting in the garden swearing at them, knowing they are profoundly deaf and the genteel neighbours on the other side are away for the weekend. Grin

Lolly34h · 31/05/2021 17:12

Me and my youngest went for a walk came back and all the neighbours were out. Their all back now and so so loud. I can't cope with it. I'm in my bedroom with the windows shut and the curtains drawn. I don't think they shouldn't be out so I just came in because I can't cope with the noise today

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 31/05/2021 17:12

Lovely and quiet here, couple of bbq parties going on, dogs etc but that’s ok.

However, next door to us are building the most enormous (and hideous) extension known to man which is a constant annoyance to me. Apparently it’s all about the ‘design’ and is perfectly in keeping with the road (it isn’t). I think my 5 year old could have designed it better. Possibly built it better than the builders as well, who have managed to mess up numerous times.

Still, they aren’t allowed to work on the bank holidays and they aren’t living there yet so could be worse.

I’m taking notes from this thread so that when they do move back in, I can seek revenge Wink

olivesnutsandcheeseplease · 31/05/2021 17:13

I've been the CF neighbour today Blush
Spent 5 hours jet washing the decking. But I didn't start until 10 and gave everyone an hour off 1-2pm. One set of neighbours are away and the other lovely one is blissfully quite deaf. Needed doing though and I figured it was better to get it over and done with.

A few doors down is a family who aren't horrible but I hate their parties. Hottest days of the year and they play really loud music until past 2am when we need the windows open. Actually feeling a bit less of a CF now Grin

crimsonlake · 31/05/2021 17:15

Mines been power washing his patio all afternoon!

oakleaffy · 31/05/2021 17:16

@Hippywannabe
Ugh,middle aged drummers- if he were a pro, he’d not think of playing in a house, he’d have proper rehearsal rooms.
Jimmy Page of Led Zep - loudest drumming ever- is fanatical about peace and quiet in his home these days.
Even muti millionaires

oakleaffy · 31/05/2021 17:17

Sent too soon
Even multi millionaires suffer problem neighbours- Page certainly has.

Tubs11 · 31/05/2021 17:20

We've been in our garden all day enjoying the sunshine and about to settle down the a BBQ. Next door neighbour had some friends over for a birthday lunch and the other side are enjoying some beers in the garden and listening to some music. I can hear another neighbour mowing their lawn in the distance and someone practising the violin and the obligatory ice cream van.... Life is good!

Serpenta · 31/05/2021 17:22

Is Jimmy Page the ones who's neighbours with Robbie Williams and they have ongoing beef about planning permission or something?

cissyandbessy · 31/05/2021 17:25

Carrying on with their extension build at 8.30 this morning. Two loud builders banging about and now obv have knocked off early since early afternoon. Coz probably wanted to enjoy the Bank Holiday eh?

randomkey123 · 31/05/2021 17:26

One side had their grandkids out in the garden at 7am, so we were all awake early. Then other side started mowing at 9am, which makes their dogs bark bark bark and bark. They've then been outside at their table all day with varying visitors, music, haw haw haw laughing and the volume increases at the same rate as their alcohol intake. Now they've got the BBQ out, the garden is covered in smoke and they're pissed as farts............. it's going to be a long long evening. Thank christ for triple glazing.

Helenluvsrob · 31/05/2021 17:26

You need large over ear headphones.Preferably bose noise cancelling but cheap noise cancellers would help lots and play your own music / white noise etc.
It will really help with low persistent hot tub type hums and apart from anything else dissuade people from chatting 😂

HerMammy · 31/05/2021 17:26

Strimmer out at 7.15am; you know cos he works shifts 🙄

PhatPhanny · 31/05/2021 17:29

I have a total of 15 houses that back onto our garden, joys of being the end house in a cul de sac, most are out in their gardens enjoying the sun, lots of DIY, a birthday party, I love it!!

PizzaCrust · 31/05/2021 17:29

Ours are all out and are never loud or noisy (two young couples, no kids). We have two toddlers but we try to stagger going into the garden. So earlier it was 12-2pm, and then back out from 4 til probably 6. I feel like that leaves a decent chunk of time for no kids. I wouldn't be willing to go out any less tbh.

RuthW · 31/05/2021 17:29

I have no idea. I saw ones this morning painting. Not seen or heard any since. Same as usual.

looptheloopinahulahoop · 31/05/2021 17:29

I've not been home today but DH said the neighbours' screamy children have been out in force.

And yesterday a neighbour tried to have a BBQ but I think must have burnt something because it was fire smell rather than BBQ. There were compensations to lockdown...

foulmouthflora1 · 31/05/2021 17:34

Neighbours are generally OK. But for some reason their kids are so fucking loud. They have the full basketball hoop, trampoline, water slide combo. If it’s not the bang bang bang on the backboard, then it’s screeching as they bounce up and down. I don’t spend huge amounts of time in the garden, but when I do they always seem to be there too. They’ve just got a puppy Hmm Kill. Me. Now.

Fluffytheevil1 · 31/05/2021 17:39

Someone thought it a marvellous idea to start mowing their lawn at 7:45 this morning. That’s it really. The bellend with the motorbike hasn’t been doing his usual trick of riding round and round the estate all day so that’s a bonus.

RainbowBriteUk · 31/05/2021 17:43

Every day it's not raining they're in their garden with their power tools and radio on. Fucking Smooth Radio to be precise. From around 7am they're up and instead of talking in normal tones, because they can't be arsed to go to each other in the house or garden, they're shouting at each other. 'Do you want a brew', 'What are you working tomorrow?'. I hear all of their fucking conversations. Then from around 7.45am - 8.15am that's when they're in the garden, radio on for the full day. Then when they come inside, I can hear them shouting again and often their telly is booming. I can hear the presenters voices on what ever shite they have on! If it's a music programme that channel five tend to do a lot of, or a musical (they're fond of Grease), they turn it right up and sing along to it. Their dog barks over nothing and they don't shut it up. I feel like I live with them and not just next door. I've tried talking to them but they retaliate in a negative fashion, so i'm moving. Both are vicious, nasty, common as muck twats!

RainbowBriteUk · 31/05/2021 17:43

Plus the whole street hate them.

mineofuselessinformation · 31/05/2021 17:48

@EvilPea????

CruCru · 31/05/2021 17:52

Someone’s pinched my wheelie bin. I don’t know who though.

SpeckledlyHen · 31/05/2021 17:58

And this is why I am put my cottage up for sale 2 weeks ago and am moving with nowhere to go.. I live in a very rural lane, no street lights, no pavements and it's idyllic bliss. House backs on to fields and you can hear the lambs bleating and birds singing. Until the twat moved in next door. Big fat lawyer with 2 screaming kids who have made everyone's lives hell but apparently it's "normal". Oh and I renovated my grade 11 listed cottage, spent £££££'s on it and went through the pain of getting permissions etc. All perfect until they rocked up. Fabulous eh?
