We just have 2 nights booked in July with the teens and another 2 nights just dh and i in August and one overnight stay and that's it. Our main holiday was moved to 2022 (3rd time moving) and another was cancelled. I cant wait just to get away if for 2 nights in the UK.

Anyone else got plans?

We are away at the moment. We've rented an Airbnb cottage on the coast.

Will be away for all of half term..

Yellowshirt · 30/05/2021 21:50

It's just work , work , work for me. I dread weekends and I haven't booked a days holiday in 3 years. I'm scared I'll have a breakdown if I stop.
I do have a week or so off at Christmas as work is closed but it's a nightmare.

Kapalika · 30/05/2021 21:51

Airbnb in Southsea in July for 5 nights.

Toilenstripes · 30/05/2021 21:53

No. Got our garden done and planning to enjoy it. Next year I plan on us having at least two holidays abroad.

NormanSicily · 30/05/2021 21:56

A week in Mumbles and a week in Ludlow, both in August. Not even contemplating anywhere forrin until at least next summer.

StCharlotte · 30/05/2021 22:11

Cancelled three foreign trips (two were rolled over from last year). Booked a week in Suffolk end of June/early July. Praying the weather is kind. Also a few days in Yorkshire at the end of August, staying with friends and family and a couple of nights in a posh hotel for a wedding. Again hoping for decent weather.

We didn't get away at all last year and I've worked right through and carried leave over. I'm running on empty now and can't wait for a break.

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 30/05/2021 22:12

A week in a really nice holiday cottage in Cornwall, right on the beach
Owned by friends so not too pricy
In a quiet area.

reluctantbrit · 30/05/2021 22:19

We just cancelled our holiday to Spain and don't bother booking a flight to Germany at the moment.

We have two weeks booked in the UK instead, English/Welsh border and already a long list of things to do. Looking so forward to it.

Doubletrouble99 · 30/05/2021 22:20

2 weeks on the beautiful west Coast of Scotland last week in June first week of July. Wil be taking our caravan so all self contained. Had 10 days in Galloway last summer and was lovely.

RoseMartha · 30/05/2021 22:29

No as nothing left in my price bracket for the uk. Ie cheapish. Havent been abroad in years.

I have spent hours in the evenings scrolling the internet for something affordable.

Feel depressed about it tbh as we didnt go away last year either and things are really crappy and stressful in my life. Could do with a short break.

bridgetreilly · 30/05/2021 22:37

Devon, Lake District and Scotland for a week each this summer. Can’t wait.

sansou · 30/05/2021 22:45

A week in Norfolk in the summer.

BestOption · 30/05/2021 22:52

No.

Even if it's 'allowed' & they'll have us (wherever) there's no way I fancy the queues in the airports (I hope for you all going they're not as bad as I imagine they'll be).

As usual work are twatting about with holiday leave, so I don't even know when I can go anyway.

I was ECV & despite it no longer 'being a thing', I'm still being very careful. But 'just in case' I'm not too keen on going too far as I have no desire to end up in hospital overseas!!

If there's anything available in the summer, that I can afford without ripping my limbs off, I'd like to go and spend some days at the beach, but will have to wait & see

I hope everyone that doesn't get away has a fabulous time & stays well. Please have a drink/ice cream for me x

ChocOrange1 · 30/05/2021 22:53

We are camping this weekend and have camping booked for July and August.
Weekend on Devon followed by week on Cornwall booked for June. Probably an Airbnb for October half term too.

XenoBitch · 30/05/2021 22:54

Already been. Had a UK caravan holiday earlier this month. Weather was dire but the change of scenery was what was needed.

TheGoogleMum · 30/05/2021 22:57

Uk 1 week break in Sept! Might also get a weekend away in a friend's caravan soon :)

Geminijust · 30/05/2021 23:22

Cottage in the lakes in summer hols, booked in Feb when there was still availability at reasonable prices. Seems it was a wise decision as I wouldn't be wanting to contend with all the uncertainty and hassle of abroad. Hoping to book something lovely abroad for 2022 although I actually do like UK holidays too.

Titsywoo · 30/05/2021 23:38

Cancelled our holiday to Duinrell in Holland as they are still amber and I'm not taking the chance of quarantining for 10 days on the way there and back.

We've decided to go on a UK road trip instead! Going north instead of down to Devon/Cornwall though. 9 days going via various places (and seeing some friends and family as we do so). Most places shouldn't be too busy but we will be doing one night in the Lake District and one in North Wales which will be.

I'm really looking forward to it! I know the weather is unlikely to be great but it's not a beach holiday anyway and after a very, very busy year with our family business I'll just be happy to get away from it all. We've booked some Premier Inns and a few nicer places so it has ended up costing £1800 for accommodation for 8 nights (we are travelling with 2 teens so have booked 3 rooms at each place). The money I had saved to pay off the Duinrell holiday will cover that.

Ingridla · 30/05/2021 23:59

Yup, 4 nights in one of the smaller Canaries, cannot bloody wait!

swiftplus · 30/05/2021 23:59

We have four UK breaks booked but we won't be going abroad, mainly out of concerns about cancellations/quarantine rather than actually getting ill. A week at the seaside, a holiday park, a festival (not sure if this will actually happen, but we've booked anyway), a theme park weekend. Last year we did a holiday park, Cornwall and a theme park weekend. We live in London and will be spending weekends doing sightseeing/touristy things here, too.

greenwichvillage · 31/05/2021 00:11

Have booked 3 weeks in Mauritius in December. Fingers crossed that we will be allowed to fly there by then. If not we will just push the trip back to 2022.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 31/05/2021 00:29

U.K., yes. Abroad, no.

Anna727b · 31/05/2021 00:58

Just UK ones, which is normal for my family. I don't understand all the fuss about not being able to go abroad (although I have loved the few holidays abroad that I've been able to go on). We live in such a beautiful country and there's loads of places to visit.

LegoPirateMonkey · 31/05/2021 07:25

U.K. breaks booked and I’ve been very miserable all May imagining a whole summer of grey skies and endless rain. Now it’s improved I’m more hopeful! If things look ok at the end of summer in the airports and in terms of infection rates I am fantasising about getting a last minute holiday to Greece but I doubt it’s in any way likely.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 31/05/2021 07:29

Going to Yorkshire in 4 weeks. Holiday cottage we've stayed in before. We booked way back last year so got it for the normal price. No idea what it would have been if we tried to book now.
I can't wait! So sick of looking at the same places. Hopefully do a couple of nights away before the kids go back to school, but everything sill be a fortune!
