"since there are thousands of children born into single parent families and teenagers each year, do you think that we could cut this rate by introducing a law whereby in order for women to have children they must have been married for a least 2 years to obtain a birth permit to allow you to have children.

if you did not have a birth permit you could not obatin a birth certificate whereby everyone needs one to get into schools open bank account be recognise by the government ie national insurance numbers and be accepted by society as a real person.

if a child was to be born without a birth permit could we fine these families a large amount ie £50k or the child to be taken away for adoption."

where has this come from?

NotQuiteCockney · 18/11/2007 20:42

Yes, that makes perfect sense, punish the women and children. Absolutely.

Who is spouting this nonsense?

nutcracker · 18/11/2007 20:42

Where have you got that from ?

Hekete · 18/11/2007 20:42

Well.

Erm.

Do they take the kids away if the marriage breaks down?

JeremyVile · 18/11/2007 20:43

Oh good god!

I have nightmares that this permit to breed nonsense will actually happen one day.

Where did you get this from?

Hekete · 18/11/2007 20:44

I have a better idea.

Lets grab all the blokes and sew their dicks to their leg. They can apply to have them unstitched once they have been married for 2 years.

Any bloke who attempts to use his dick without the appropriate licence gets the fecker chopped off.

jezzemx · 18/11/2007 20:44

This is stuff that gives me nightmares.

Shades of the Handmaids Tale.

Where did you read this, Nappyaddict ?

bookthief · 18/11/2007 20:45

Isn't that (except for the 2 years bit) pretty much the situation in China already? So whomever wrote that can't even produce and original shit idea.

PeachesMcLean · 18/11/2007 20:45

don't tell me, it's someone posting a comment on the BBC news pages. There are some very scary people around, aren't there?

THelesbellsRINGOUTFORCHRISTMAS · 18/11/2007 20:47

While they're at it why not stamp 'bastard' on their forehead

professorplum · 18/11/2007 20:49

Its like China. You can't get married until you are in your 20s and you can't get a birth permit without being married. If you get pregnant before then its tough.

Bouncingturtle · 18/11/2007 20:50

Im like Hekete's plan better

Sheesh, where do people come up with these crackpot ideas!

Lazarou · 18/11/2007 20:53

was that written by someone who had just seen Demolition Man?

nappyaddict · 18/11/2007 21:30

It was off another parenting forum.

If you can't get a birth permit in china until you are married what happens if you get pregnant before. does that mean those children can't ever work or get a passport or driving license when they are older?

OP posts:
lilolilmanchester · 18/11/2007 21:32

All this will do is push abortion underground, more women and babies will die unnecessarily, or newborns will be abandoned. Not good for anyone.

stripeymama · 18/11/2007 21:32

Which other parenting forum?

Hold my coat, I'm off over there....

Hekete · 18/11/2007 21:36
