To think Boris should not have been married in Westmister Cathedral?

Divorced people are not allowed to be married in a Catholic church. Boris Johnson has been married twice before. His first marriage was annulled, so the church does not count. But his second marriage does count. So he should never have been allowed to marry in a Catholic Cathedral.

He was expected to have RC weddings or to get permission to marry outside of the church.

The reason others have needed to get annulments is that the RC church considers all marriages valid until proved otherwise.

Hello, BJ here. I think what the British public really wanted was for me to be married in the poshest way possible. Cogito ergo sum. Erm. Look the rules don’t apply to me, never have, never will, I’m the king.

"If only the institution ( the Catholic Church) had been as flexible for Henry V111 as it is for Boris Johnson." - a quote from an article written by Fintan O' Toole, a journalist with the Irish Times.
Too true. Smile

Many lives would have been saved.

I really wish we could acknowledge anti Catholicism and how it works in the UK. I’m so fed up of all of this.

It’s so far ingrained I think it’s going to be difficult to get people to acknowledge it even exists.

@Rafals but I can understand anger and rage at the institution (shared by many Catholics) but its the slam dunk attacks on individuals just because they are RC (which we can't change and is usually a matter of geography as in if you had been born in a RC country you too would be RC). I think there are a lot of strawman arguments circulating but essentially it is an attack on the poor.
