I dont know why I'm watching it! It needs to go really. How are we behind Israel? They're not even Europe!

@Floralnomad I agree. It was handled so well, especially being the first zero points.

@Biscoffin we should have backed out ages ago then.

@3Britnee

Neither are we, anymore.

PMSL. I'm embarrassed for you! Do you REALLY think the UK are not in Europe anymore?

Bet you voted REMAIN! You did didn't ya?! Grin

ceepeeree · 22/05/2021 23:45

Yep.
The UK buys it's way in and then wonders why points don't rain down? Especially post-Brezit, and Amanda Holden perpetuating an ignorant attiu...
Think about it...

littlepattilou · 22/05/2021 23:46

@Lauren1983

The sooner we withdraw the better.
Agree ^

We need to come out of it now. Should have come out a decade ago actually. We will never win again. And it's NOTHING to do with Brexit, as a few people have suggested on social media. We have been losing big time since the around the year 2000.

Our entry got no points from the public OR from the other countries. It's painful and embarrassing to watch. Time for the UK to come out of Eurovision NOW. We should NOT be in it next year, or ever again.

WTAF are you going on about? Confused
3Britnee · 22/05/2021 23:48

We're in Europe but we aren't in their clique anymore. Of course they'll give nil points, they didnt dish them out liberally to us BEFORE brexit.

Not the point it should not be political. Israel scored points proving it can be done.

No point in us beings n it since 1998 it has become worse.

Sometimeswinning · 22/05/2021 23:50

@ceepeeree just assume Amanda Holden came on later. Did you actually see the other presenters? No one covered themselves in glory.

Loving our uk entry. He deserves a medal after this!

Even Ireland is trending on Twitter.

HostessTrolley · 22/05/2021 23:52

Let’s hope James has a decent time at the after party

Sparklesocks · 22/05/2021 23:54

Maybe the U.K. and Germany acts can team up and have a big night to drown sorrows Grin

UrAWizHarry · 22/05/2021 23:55

To be fair it was a fucking shit song.

upthekyber · 22/05/2021 23:57

Our song was dull, I don't like the winning song either but it is more Eurovision.

I was hoping for a Icelandic win.

littlepattilou · 22/05/2021 23:57

@UrAWizHarry

To be fair it was a fucking shit song.
There were many that were worse.
UrAWizHarry · 22/05/2021 23:59

Not really. Fucking dreadful.

BritWifeinUSA · 23/05/2021 00:00

@UrAWizHarry

To be fair it was a fucking shit song.
But Eurovision has never been about musical masterpieces. People have won with worse songs.
littlepattilou · 23/05/2021 00:02

EXACTLY @BritWifeinUSA

Feelingconfused2020 · 23/05/2021 00:07

The song wasn't that bad. It was reasonably pleasant and tuneful. Some of the songs were dire. I do enjoy Eurovision but I think perhaps we ought to think about stepping back from it if we continue to do this badly. We put money into it. Why should they benefit financially from humiliating us like that year after year? I'm.not sure who exactly the money came from, was it the BBC? I'm sure there are other appropriate ventures that they could spend that on.

Womencanlift · 23/05/2021 00:08

@UrAWizHarry

To be fair it was a fucking shit song.
I heard it on the radio a few times this week and it definitely sounded better as a recorded version than live. Tonight it was dreadful. Still didn’t deserve 0 though

By the looks of how he reacted he seems to be taking it in good spirits and will probably have a great time at the after show party

Felt sorry for Iceland. If last year had happened as planned the they would have likely won, this year’s offering from them wasn’t a patch on last years

UrAWizHarry · 23/05/2021 00:08

The point remains though that the UK entered a shit song and lost. This should not come as a surprise.

Getting zero points was just the hilarious icing on the cake.

rosegoldfan · 23/05/2021 00:08

@littlepattilou

EXACTLY *@BritWifeinUSA*
So it's pointless
WickedQueen · 23/05/2021 00:09

Anyone else see the Italian singer actually doing Coke on tv?? His pal next to him giving him the nudge??

rosegoldfan · 23/05/2021 00:10

We could have a trio of Paul M, Elton John and Ed sheran and still recieve nil points.

Womencanlift · 23/05/2021 00:11

@WickedQueen

What? No I didn’t. Was this during the voting?

I did see them looking really bored and all of them on their phones which was funny

UrAWizHarry · 23/05/2021 00:12

@rosegoldfan

We could have a trio of Paul M, Elton John and Ed sheran and still recieve nil points.
If Ed Sheran was involved then doubtless yes, we would deserve nil points.
