To ask what the beat non stick frying pan is?

Yes, I know I am being unreasonable using this topic for traffic but I'm fed up of non stick ending up sticky!

All I want is a decent, normal sized, flat frying pan that lasts and stays non stick. I don't mind paying a little more for something that lasts.

I've looked at cast iron skillets, copper frying pans, ceramic frying pans...but I'm lost and after recommendations.

Bought one at the beginning of the year (just supermarket brand but covered with 'Teflon' logo) and it's already ruined.

I'm not the best cook but I don't use it for anything other than basic frying so surely it should last longer than 5 months?

Recommendations gratefully received!!

This thread is a bit old now, but we’ve recently updated our best frying pan guide with plenty of non-stick options recommended by Mumsnetters. We hope you find it useful.

Phantom Chef via TK Maxx. Fallen a little in love with my frying pan.

BikeRunSki · 21/05/2021 20:52

Frying pans appear to last about 6 months in my hiuse. I want one of these Solidteknics pan.

PurpleWh1teGreen · 21/05/2021 20:53

Easiglide all the way. A friend recommended them and I was a bit dubious because of cost, but they. Are. Amazing.

Non stick and still get really hot. I’d recommend hand washing rather than chucking in the dishwasher, but the non stick is so good that it’s an easy job.

Another vote for Scoville Neverstick range (got mine from Asda). And the oven trays in the same range are amazing too. Don't warp/bend in the oven. Easy peasy to clean. Don't go rusty in dishwasher. Argos also do a Scoville neverstick roaster which is brilliant for roasts, burgers, sausages etc.

AndroidsAliensAndWizards · 21/05/2021 21:19

Scoville never stick is brilliant.

SwanShaped · 21/05/2021 21:19

Thanks @jimmyhill they look great.

AndroidsAliensAndWizards · 21/05/2021 21:21

I got mine on Asda half price too. The baking trays and sauté pan are brilliant too.

Bumply · 21/05/2021 21:24

Another vote for scoville

thisisbull · 21/05/2021 21:39

Jml copper stone pans from eBay haha! £20 for 5 and they're cracking I also have tefal ignio that are great but I need more handles

Kiki275 · 21/05/2021 21:51

@Buffaloskull

I love my hairy bikers one I got from home bargains for £6.99. Best one ever and I wish I'd bought two.
@Buffaloskull they have several cast iron ones online at TKMaxx, are they the same thing?

www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/home/kitchen+dining/pots+pans/25cm-navy-cast-iron-frying-pan/p/78072908

I was looking earlier and couldn't decide if it was a branded gimmick (Ken Hom wok I'm looking at you) or if they'd be worth a go x

VanceRefridgeration · 21/05/2021 22:08

Ohhh I've just come back to the thread and seen all the further recommendations...thanks so much all.

I'm off to look at all the links!

Circulon for me too
I have had my current set of pans and frying pans for nearly 20 years without damaging the non stick

MyBiscuitspread · 21/05/2021 22:27

I keep wondering about the potential damage we are doing to our bodies in the long term by eating all this non stick coating... This can't be healthy but I can't think of an alternative other than using cast iron pans.
Someone up thread said they are good for iron deficiency but aren't most of them coated with enamel?

Ginisatonic · 21/05/2021 22:38

@Moondust001

I bought a nameless one in Morrisons sales about 12 years ago. Amazingly is is still perfect and is the best one I have ever had! I can't begin to understand why it hasn't worn off, but it hasn't. I wish I did know what make it is because I'd buy more!
I also have a nameless one which I bought in Morrisons. I use it all the time and it goes in the dishwasher. It has a metal handle and Is oven safe too. I don’t think they have them any more.
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 21/05/2021 22:39

I’ve had several expensive ones, none of which has stayed remotely non stick for any length of time.

Best has been a relatively cheap Tefal one I picked up in a supermarket.
I would never buy an expensive one again.

maddening · 21/05/2021 22:40

Scollville neverstick are amazing

maddening · 21/05/2021 22:51

We mostly avoid the dishwasher, but as nothing sticks it is quick to hand wash

c0ntent5 · 21/05/2021 22:51

Ninja! Non stick, dishwasher proof and 10 year guarantee. Pricey, but worth it. I have a few other ninja ‘gadgets’ and got the pans I suppose to add to the ‘collection’ but they have been more than worth it!

billy1966 · 21/05/2021 22:58

I have found the Tefal very good.
Only use rubber or wood implements and hot soapy water.
They have lasted very well.
I think the handles could be better though.

Vursayles · 21/05/2021 23:09

We’ve just bought a set of Circulon Total Hard Anodised pans and really love them
so far. Expensive but not ridiculous and they seem really nice quality. We plan to look after them very, very well....!

FedUp1984 · 21/05/2021 23:26

Salter Megastone. Non stick AND dishwasher safe AND fine to use metal utensils.
What's not to love?

crayyola · 21/05/2021 23:34

@Spanglybangles email le creuset customer service. They should replace it!

wearetheweirdosmr · 21/05/2021 23:39

I just brought two from dungeon - their own range and they are brilliant.
Genuinely don't need oil

wearetheweirdosmr · 21/05/2021 23:39

Dunelm
