To wish that the travel agent wouldn't phone me up every blinking day

Went into the travel agents last Satruday as a bunch of us are looking for a villa holiday and wasn't having much luck online as our requirements are quite specific.

The lady was very helpful and said she would email over some possibilities, which she did. They weren't right for a number of reasons and she is looking for some others which is fine. However she has now rung up every day this week, leaving messages as I was away on Wednesday and Thursday.

Today I was literally in the door back from our trip and another phone call. I have now let the phone trip over to answerphone for the last few calls as I can't be bothered speaking to her.

I know she is probably just being really keen at her job, but I can't make any immediate decisions anyway as I need to email stuff on to the other families to look at and agree on, plus DS is 19mths old and on the rare occasions when he is having his nap I just want to mumsnet.

Yes and No. You have asked her to 'tailor' your needs and that is what she is doing, but ringing you every day is a bit much. Can you speak to her and thank her for all her hardwork and ask that she emails you any other details so you can forward on to other families, etc but that YOU will contact her when a decision has been made, IYKWIM?

Yes I know I should say that to her, but she always seems to catch me on the hop and doesn't seem to recognise that I don't have time to chat.

Oh I know its not a biggie but its v annoying that I don't want to answer my own phone.

I do know how you feel but I think she has her "commission goggles" on and seems desperate for a sale!!

I really think you need to be honest with her otherwise she will just keep ringing you.
