And what did you think of the outcome?
I completed one a while ago - I am an INFP and found it was scarily accurate.

Just interested to hear others’ thoughts and tell me, how does your mind work?

There was a fascinating thread on here recently about people who don’t really have an inner-monologue and the discussion about the differences in how we think was really enlightening. Would love to know how people with different personality types interpret the world around them.

Hi OP. Would you have a link to the test please?

KnackeredHag · 16/05/2021 22:54

This is the one I use with my students

I did it some years ago. I was an INTJ, it was very accurate indeed. I found it fascinating and read a few books about it at the time, I recall. I was going through a complicated patch in my life at that point, it helped to understand who I was and how I was reacting to situations. These days it doesn't make so much of an impact, I think I have incorporated my findings into my everyday perspective....

PizzaBreath · 16/05/2021 22:58

I’ve done it several times at work over the years. Of all the personality test / exercises I've done over the years it’s by far the most accurate and insightful. So useful for knowing your team and what makes them tick too!

KnackeredHag · 16/05/2021 22:59

Don't take it at face value. You need to work with someone who knows how to interpret the results and what it means for you or be prepared to dig a bit deeper and really think about how knowing this can help you move forward. In the nicest possible way.

ThatOtherPoster · 16/05/2021 23:00

I get a different result every time.

Lazierdays · 16/05/2021 23:00

Yes, it’s the only one I’ve come across that I really rate. I am ENFP and it is spot on for me from personality traits to career choices.

IncorrigibleTitmouse · 16/05/2021 23:01

We did it at work with a coach years ago and it was fascinating. I’m also an INFP in what could very often be seen as an extrovert’s job. I have to ‘switch it on’ at work. I find things like multi-day conferences and events absolutely draining.

blaisealex · 16/05/2021 23:02

INTP :)

Womencanlift · 16/05/2021 23:03

Agree with @KnackeredHag. If you want to do something with the results, you really need to sit down with a Myers Briggs practitioner who is trained to interpret your results and give you insight on how you can get the best out of your own ‘type’

I am an ISTJ and the overview could have been written about me, it was so accurate. Having following up coaching sessions with a practitioner provided practical advice on how I could utilise this for my own advantage

Womencanlift · 16/05/2021 23:05

The Insights ‘four colours’ is also really good to get a view on yourself and of others (your family or colleagues). Bit simpler to interpret and do something with immediately than Myers Briggs

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 16/05/2021 23:07

INFJ and I also find it very accurate.

Chanjer · 16/05/2021 23:08

Campaigner ENFP/T or ENFP/A but the description sounds way more annoying than I (hope) I am Grin

ENTJ and red tending towards more red under pressure. That's with my work head on though. Totally suits my career

Much more laid back in real life.

H2OConnoisseur · 16/05/2021 23:08

Back in Uni we did this in one of my classes and I was an INTJ with an extremely strong 'N' and 'T'. I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what it entails though as personality stuff doesn't interest me. Blush

tunnocksreturns2019 · 16/05/2021 23:09

I get INFJ every time. And I don’t think my job suits my strengths or needs enough Confused

LookingGlassMilk · 16/05/2021 23:12

I've done a few tests in the past and sometimes it comes up INTJ and other times INFJ. The I, N and J are very strong but the F and the T seem to be split almost 50/50.

I just did the test in the link and it has come up INFJ.

justasking111 · 16/05/2021 23:12

School did this. DS did the test, we had a copy, years later we looked at it again. It said architecture as a career would suit him. That is what he did become. It was eerily accurate in many other ways. It is a fascinating test.

AnnaMagnani · 16/05/2021 23:13

Yes, it's bullshit.

Done it several times, got different answers each time. Each one was 'scarily accurate'. It's like a fucking horoscope.

Based on no proven research at all.

However it's a nice exercise to show how groups of people are diverse and think differently. That's it.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 16/05/2021 23:15

It was pretty much ripped apart on R4 a couple of years back

Tippexy · 16/05/2021 23:18

I am an INFP and found it was scarily accurate.

Well of course it will be accurate because the results regurgitate what you have told it about how you perceive yourself.

Serpenta · 16/05/2021 23:20

It's as scientific as astrology

LongIslandIcedT · 16/05/2021 23:27

I prefer the four colours too. I did this as part of a course to help working with different personalities. I'm a red with a bit of green.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 16/05/2021 23:27

ENFJ Protagonist was my result & it reflects the my approach to work v well
