to ask builders to turn their music down?

I work from home and have to write two newsletters and two strategic plans today. I also have a house full of builders. Three of them have radios on. Each radio is tuned to a different station. Each radio is tuned to REALLY bad stations (think techno and heavy metal). Each radio is on full blast.

I need quiet to write. I understand that their job is probably a lot better done with music in the background. But it's my frickin house right?

I have asked them to please turn the music down. They do by one little notch and within 5 minutes turn it up again.

I am going to lose my mind. I feel too embarrassed to ask them again but just can't work while it's like this. Aaarrgghhh!

can you go to the library?

...annoy builders at your peril... you want them back and those walls to stay up!

suey2 · 16/11/2007 12:52

earplugs. It is the only way. I thoroughly recommend 'sealrite' if you can get them. The secret to a happy marriage for me

Don't piss the builders off, they'll vanish for months. Buy some wax earplugs or something, but GOD don't piss the builders off.

JoshandJamie · 16/11/2007 12:57

I know. I really don't want to piss them off. We've been living in temporary accommodation for months and have to be back in for Christmas. But I just can't work like this. If I had some ear plugs, i'd use them. Will have to get some over the weekend but today it's just not possible.

I will just quietly fume.
