To ask what you consider “The North”?

Just a post about being a Northerner/Southerner which made me think - what do you consider as “The North”? I’ve never had a solid answer for this and just wanted to know the general census on this.

Anything North of Birmingham

Top of Tottenham Court Road

North of Inverness 🤗

I'm from Berkshire, anything upwards of Birmingham is the north to me.

Above the midlands... south, mid, north 🤷🏼‍♀️
I'm a Londoner

Roughly from the Mersey a bit under Sheffield (the top part of the Peak District is too rugged not to at least be honorary north) to somewhere around the Humber.

I live near the middle of the U.K. and of Great Britain... the middle is in the
North.

Nah, that's Wales.

Anything above Nottingham. I mentally draw a lines from around Liverpool/Manchester way directly across to the Humber -, Salford, Sheffield, Doncaster, Hull etc all north.

For England, upwards of Stoke on Trent

Past Birmingham (I am a Londoner)

North is Aberdeen, Inverness etc.

Anything south of Carlisle is "Down South"

Manchester and Sheffield, that's where the accent changes to northern

Anything above a line through Crewe, Chesterfield, Worksop and Grimsby.

Staffordshire.

Nottingham is the cut off.. Anything south is south, anything North is the north. Surely?

(England specific though, if we're talking about the UK then Aberdeen ish)

Shetland islands

North of Welshpool and Machynlleth.
