Well i have been watching TV this evening and our top box crashed a couple of times nothing unusual!!! However on the third attemp it failed to reboot- Have unplugged and reset- nothing-

At 8-35pm called virgin to explain and have been informed there is a fault in the area however ours is not to do with that, need to send out and engineer- as fault is in the box ok- thats fine however next appointment is
Monday afternoon between 12-4pm- What on earth am i meant to do until then, thats 4days away-
i pay enough money each month so i expect better service than this!!!

i am so annoyed- 7months pregnant and have 2 year old DS and hubby moaning he will miss his fav programmes!!!!

Think i will be going to sky!!! aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

in my experience of Virgin Media a 4 day turnaround time is actually pretty quick... not to suggest for a moment that it's good service or that you shouldn't be annoyed.

they came around to our place and picked up our box (for who knows what reason) then when we called them to find out why and when we'd be getting one back, they couldn't find any record of picking it up and told us to go report it stolen to the police and were going to charge us £250 for another box. When they finally worked out that they did pick it up (they don't know why), they said the soonest they could get an engineer around to replace it was in three weeks time.

and they've been double billing me since April...

eh. I can't stand VM... could rant about them forever.

MissLapinToYou · 16/11/2007 08:19

VM engineers are rarer than rocking horse shit IME. I hate them hate them hate them hate them (Virgin, that is - the engineers are generally quite nice).

We're not allowed to have Sky here, and Virgin are the only Cable service nowadays. I hate them (did I say that already?!)

Oh dont start me on that shower of shite.

I changed my tv over to them a few months ago ( on a wednesday)- by 4pm on the thursday it had gone off umpteen times and finally gave up completly following one last "switch it off at the wall" suggestion from one of the idiots that works in their callcentre.

So tv is off (this is the thursday remember) and they offer me the first available engineer apt.......the following wednesday.
I was so enraged I could barely speak (only had the bloody thing 24 hours!)

Luckily we still had SKY available as the subscription had not run out, so I just changed the settop boxes over and told Virgin to shove their inadequate system up their back passages.

Would never consider them again for tv.

Could you imagine really being without the tv for almost a week??

I would have to do crafts with kids and actually talk to dp....

Virgin are rubbish but if you rant enough about all the inconvience and shamelessy add a few tears about being stressed, being pregnant, blah blah, ask to speak to a manager you should find they will probably half your bill for the next year.

Now am a wee pit ashamed for admitting this but due to frustration, lack of sleep (new baby) no broadband, no tv I rang up and did just this.
A very snotty nose later I now get TV (no movies) unlimited broadband and free UK calls 24 hours a day) for £30 a month

They are still rubbish but the cheapness has helped cushion the blow

Also i noticed they now text you a message to confirm the engineer is coming. Hav they done this? I'd check otherwise they may not turn up on Wed, make sure you get compensation for the wait.

Oh and back to question in hand UANBU

sarahmikeandharry · 21/11/2007 14:41
