To want to wear heels on a night out?

DH has just announced that he'd rather I didn't wear heels out as I am taller than him in them. He says it's weird me being taller than him. I don't want to wear trainers but now I'll feel stupid wearing my heels knowing that he feels this way

DH is 6 foot, I am 5 foot 9.
He says lots of blokes feel this way.

I don't often wear heels but it's a special occasion and I just want to feel sexy as we don't get out much as DS is 5m.

I think I'll wear them anyway but it pissed me off that he said that as he knows I have low self esteem anyway.

I've got a Tina Turner wig. Quite similar, will that do? (It's a bit matted though)

Is it this big?

Yep. That's it!

DP and I are the same height (touching 6 feet) and I wear heels most of the time. I just don't feel 'dressed' in flats. However this summer I started wearing ballet flats, and it was quite strange to be the same height as DP. He doesn't give a damn how much taller I look, just jokes about it.

Mind you, we are off out on Saturday and I have bought some shoes with huge heels and a platform, so will probably tower over him more than usual!

Tell DH to grow up (no pun intended) and not to throw his toys out of the pram.

Ahem - I am 3 1/2 inches taller than my dh - he would never tell me what footwear to choose.

I don't tend to wear heels but that is a preference regarding comfort rather than relative height considerations.

You should never be made to feel uncomfortable for being tall, especially as he is taller than you anyway

I rarely wear heels (or any other shoes given a choice!) but when I do they bring me about level with DH. I know he finds it strange that he can't "look down on me" but this has only ever been said in jest and he certainly wouldn't ask me not to wear them. Surely any DP should want you to look and feel your best? Sounds like he's got a big inferiority complex to me.
