arrrrrgh!
why oh why oh why can he just not put the bloody paper all the way through the letter box instead of leaving it in letterbox for all the lovely cold air to come through!
really makes me

Because they are in a rush as it is cold and always just put it through a bit. Go and get it yourself if it bothers you that much.

Lulumama · 15/11/2007 14:31

you know, sometimes life is too short to get worked up about this sort of thing......

CodDickinson · 15/11/2007 14:33
Hmm
MerryAnnSinglemas · 15/11/2007 14:33

but it's his job to deliver the paper and they should do it properly - it drives me insane - I always put the free paper straight in the recycling bin because they do this...grrr

smeeinachristmastreeinnit · 15/11/2007 14:33

zubb, its a free paper that gets delievered and if im out all day it gets bloody cold in the house
if he doesnt like delivering papers in the cold,so has to rush through it.get a different job!

plus it shows that people aren't in when there's a paper half out of the letterbox

smeeinachristmastreeinnit · 15/11/2007 14:36

thanks merryann, not just me that doesnt like heating up the street then?!

actually I posted a thread about this very subject a while ago and gotr a fair bit of support of my ranting !

foofi · 15/11/2007 14:56

I get a weekly paper which arrives around 4am and is dropped noisily right through the letterbox even though I have been asked for it to be left outside on the mat! There's always something to be annoyed about...

smeeinachristmastreeinnit · 15/11/2007 17:30

thats very true foofi, always something to annoy us all!

Heh, postman did this this other day and I ran out and asked him to push my post ALL the way through the letter box, please.

It was a bank statement though, would rather that people couldn't get to post that easily, and advertises the fact that nobody is in if there is something sticking out the front door.

Swedes2Turnips1 · 16/11/2007 16:45

I reckon the postman thinks - farkin anal retentives they project their problems all over, even their post isn't safe.

MerryAnnSinglemas · 16/11/2007 16:47

kekouan - I always want to rush out and tell them to put it through properly but am too much of a wimp

unknownrebelbang · 16/11/2007 18:06

YANBU.

I've had a word with our paperlad about this, and he's stopped doing it, but the free weekly was shoved through early morning yesterday and it was just lodged for goodness knows how long!

Furball · 16/11/2007 18:27

our postman does this and it is annoying. The whole road suffers and when anyone goes away - you have to ask neighbours to push your post through.

He doesn't take any notice of our requests. Which I think is quite bad. If both dh and I worked our post would be hanging out from 9am!

kekouan · 17/11/2007 14:27

I don't care what the postman thinks, as long as my credit card statements aren't poking out the front door, ready to be swiped, then I'm happy (and they no longer are, after I had my polite word with him)

dooley1 · 17/11/2007 14:30

You could put a notice on your door saying no free newspapers
That's what some of our neighbours have done

becklebigbump · 17/11/2007 14:34

I used to be a paper girl and would be docked wages for not putting papers right the way through the letter box! Shows that there is no-one home.
