Hate bank holidays !!

Am I alone in loathing bank holidays ?! They have a definite depressing feel to them rather like an extra Sunday. The weather forecast down south was wet and windy which I was quite glad about as thought maybe we could be cosy at home but it's stifling hot and sunny one minute and windy the next. I love time away from work but when I choose it !!

Hated them with a real passion when I worked in hospitality. Less transport to get to work and more expensive or busy because everyone wants to go out, shops closed early or completely because it's bank holiday, and having to work the whole weekend from Friday to Monday meant if I didn't have it Thursday, I went without, and people turn into some sort of special arseholes on a bank holiday Monday, and that's without the ones who use a bank holiday to see how much alcohol they can drink and how much trouble they can cause in one sitting.

I don't really notice them now because it's a normal working day/night since I've changed jobs, transport is unaffected due to the times I travel and so really it's no different to any other day. Pain in the arse if it's a day off and I need to do a big shop and work round shortened opening times, and everywhere being busy, better for me if it's a nice day when I've been on nights, because then everyone does go out, they stay at home and do noisy DIY if it's bad weather and I don't get much sleep 😉
