...to expect Tescos to covert all (or at least most) of my points to vouchers...

...they have bloody carried nearly 2000 points over to February

That is £80 worth of holiday .

I had 8800 points on my statement before they converted them.

A week later I have 2000 points on my card at only £70 of vouchers....

what's the point in that??!!! How stupid of them... it's YOUR money.

Ring them and DEMAND it back.

ConnorTraceptive · 14/11/2007 09:38

this annoys me too, they do it every time. Maybe should phone them

AnAngelWithin · 14/11/2007 09:40

they did this with me as well. but not so many points as you. how the heck did you rack up that many points?!?!

snorkle · 14/11/2007 09:43

That's odd, they only ever carry over points worth less than 50p with me. Have you gained these points since the beginning of November perhaps?

ConnorTraceptive · 14/11/2007 10:05

wonder if it depends on how many points you rack up? We usually have about 5000 and they generally carry over a 1000.

snorkle · 14/11/2007 10:37

It seems you shouldn't carry over more than 50 points from the end of the 'collecting period'. So I guess the extra points must have been after the end of this period which they unhelpfully haven't stated when it is (but the do reserve the right to vary it). I expect it's the end of October, so if you've spent a lot in early Nov.that would explain it. That's from their T&C's:

The level of reward given by Tesco and Tesco Personal Finance will be based on the number of points that a member has collected on Tesco products and/or Tesco Personal Finance products by the end of the last day of a collecting period. Points a member has collected on Tesco products and/or Tesco Personal Finance products that fall between the level of reward and the next level will be 'carried over 'as the starting balance(s)for the next collecting period. The current levels are multiples of 50 points. Tesco reserves the right to vary the rate at any time.
Members who do not reach the minimum number of points needed to qualify for a reward by the end of the collecting period will have their points total 'carried over 'to the next collecting period.

worzsel · 14/11/2007 10:38

How do you spend enough to earn that amount of points !!

Emprexia · 14/11/2007 10:53

The points on your vouchers are what you collected up to october 21st.

They don't normally carry over more than the "small change" that doesn't amount to 50ps worth.

If you think they've calculated wrong, give them a call.

codslovechild · 14/11/2007 16:17

no

SnowMakesSnowmen · 14/11/2007 18:19

I get that many as I have the CC and collect about 3000 points just by using my credit ard.

This quarter I have found that a perk of internet shopping is that you can find codes to get up to 1000 extra points at a time.

I have not spent that much in November (I lost my card 4th Nov and had to wait 10days for a new one).

My total on 26/10 was nearly 7700....so I should still have had more converted....unless I had used a 500pts token online between 21/10 and 26/10 which is a possibility I guess.

It is just depressing when you balance says 8800 at the beginning of Nov - you plan around that and are £80 down in vouchers....

OTOH I can book my accomodation and wait till Feb to book Ferry as I already have enough points to cover my Ferry costs....you wait P&O will pull out of scheme

Like snow I have the tesco credit card. We buy everything on it and clear the balance each month. Don't pay with cash or switch for anything anymore which is why we manage to get quite a few points.

SnowMakesSnowmen · 14/11/2007 18:33

Kaishay....how do you know/find out that the cut-off was 21 Oct?

OP posts:
snorkle · 14/11/2007 21:38

I noticed the 21st Oct cutoff was printed on the bottom of a recent till receipt just after the current points total this afternoon (after Kaishay'd already noted it here).

bookofthedeadmum · 14/11/2007 21:51

I think Tescos should just leave the points on the card (as Nectar do) and stop faffing about with bloody vouchers. IMHO of course.

SlightlyMadSnowmen · 14/11/2007 21:56

Here here...

Emprexia · 14/11/2007 23:42

Lol, other than the bottom of the reciept, i work on the checkouts, so we're always warned when the vouchers are sent out before christmas because we get a till full of them... and because staff get theirs before everyone else!

Bookofthedeadmum.. i believe you can request to only be sent them once a year if you contact clubcard.

Pebblemum · 15/11/2007 10:43

Snow I read this thread last night and agree with what everyone has said but I also saw that you want to use your points on P&O ferries. I just wanted to let you know that it look as if they are pulling out of the scheme.

I have planned to take my family across to Disney on 27th Dec and thought i had a while to sort it out but my MIL just called to say that any clubcard points being used against P&O have to be converted by 17th Nov and booking made by 30th November. P&O Irish Sea isnt affected.

SlightlyMadScreachingSirens · 15/11/2007 13:23

TY Pebble for the heads up about P&O.....I was joking but hey ho...
