So just found this on my spare room floor..
I think its a little tube to store coke in. It has a white powder in.
Has anyone seen this before?
Not mine obviously.

Want to know before I say something..

The container is called an eppendorf tube.
Widely used in laboratories.
Outside scientific areas used for recreational drugs.

Lockheart · 28/04/2021 18:54

@Poppydex

It's an ex not a child only found it while cleaning out his old half of wardrobe.

In the pictures it looks like that clear glitter with sparkles in I know. But it's not.
The tube is empty and the white powder residue is round the outside.

Coke has been a problem in the past.

So surely that's your answer? It's an ex, you knew he did come, just chuck it and get on with your life, no need for all this guessing.
YellowGlasses · 28/04/2021 18:54

Coke doesn’t smell tablety.

Lockheart · 28/04/2021 18:54

*coke

KarensChoppyBob · 28/04/2021 18:55

I knew a guy who always carried around a tiny box with a teeny little silver spoon for bumps.

But he was a bit of a knob.

notagainmummy · 28/04/2021 18:56

If it's in the cupboard of a drug user, then it's obviously drugs. Probably coke as I think that is mostly white powder? Heroin I think is brownish.

therocinante · 28/04/2021 18:56

@Yorkshirecrab

Nobody puts drugs in things like that! Hmm
Some very enterprising dealers near me have little plastic pots, so I wouldn't be surprised.
BuyYourOwnBBQGlenda · 28/04/2021 18:56

If it's an ex is there any point saying anything? Just bin and be thankful you're rid.

Onairjunkie · 28/04/2021 18:57

Ah got the nasal drip just thinking about it. Old school.

I don’t think, unless your ex decanted it into that, it’s likely to be coke. Coke would stick to it and as you couldn’t get your finger in there, it would be wasted.

A dealer would never put it in anything other than a baggy or a wrap. It would not be economical for them to be buying plastic containers.

So it’s probably not. But unless you rub a bit on your gums or ask your ex, you’ll never know. Maybe just send a photo with a question mark.

IHaveBrilloHair · 28/04/2021 18:57

Jeez all around the world for you to drip feed that.
It doesn't matter what it is, you don't trust him.

Marshmallow91 · 28/04/2021 18:58

@EpitomeofAnOldBattle

I know what you mean! I spent two years taking 10+ grams every single day. Its amazing feeling at the time but I'd never want to go back to that place. I much prefer being clean (I don't even drink now) because I can't ever trust myself to not just say "one more line"

themalamander · 28/04/2021 19:01

We used those in the lab. But unless your ex is a researcher of some kind then it's quite likely to be drugs.

DIshedUp · 28/04/2021 19:02

It looks like a centrifuge tube for biology. And it looks like it contains glitter.

But if it is coke I don't really see whats changed. They are your ex, you know they had a coke problem. Its hardly a revelation that they might have coke containers amongst their stuff

ElaborateSalad · 28/04/2021 19:02

I think I've just found a new use for the container thingy from the lateral flow kits though...

Onairjunkie · 28/04/2021 19:02

Didn’t see you update about him having a problem with coke in the past. It may well be there. Hmm

Smithlets80 · 28/04/2021 19:03

A pp said it could be something to do with DNA testing - could the white power be the same stuff you sometimes find in urine specimen bottles? I think it’s boric acid?

Poppydex · 28/04/2021 19:04

Well we have a child together otherwise I wouldn't care about his drug habit. Sorry should have said.

Facetimed him holding up the tube. Yes it's coke.

Drugs are stored in a baggie. It's not drugs.

the80sweregreat · 28/04/2021 19:05

@Smithlets80

It looks like the collection tube in a COVID lateral flow test.
This! It looks like that to me too.
Couchbettato · 28/04/2021 19:05

Tbh it looks like ketamine to me. Like small glassy crystals rather than powder.

Kokapetl · 28/04/2021 19:05

As others have said it is an eppendorf tube. They are used in most biology laboratories.

I guess if someone took some chemical from a (university?) lab it might be put in one. Unlikely to be anything illegal if that is the case because you need a special license to work with anything like that.

Notasdesperate · 28/04/2021 19:05

It's a 1.5ml eppendorf tube used in most labs (research, hospital, university etc.) Not enough powder to be a dose of coke worth taking so maybe not that? Could be some other recreational drug? Might be a tiny sample of any white powder chemical used in a lab brought home in trouser pocket (rather than lab coat pocket) by mistake? I've done this...

Amelia666 · 28/04/2021 19:06

I haven’t seen anything like that before but looks like glitter... If it is for drugs, the shape also looks like it’s potentially designed to slide into a rectum so I’d wash my hands if I were you 😆

Poppydex · 28/04/2021 19:07

If it was packed in you could get a good couple of lines out of it.

Look at me eh, learn something new everyday.
