Can be lighthearted or heavy.

Mine is doing the packed lunches. Fucking hate it, especially those stupid Sistema lunchboxes with the compartments that nothing fits in Grin not my best ever purchase

You?

Constantly dislocating knees due to EDS and being told that, although I need them doing, cannot have a double knee replacement due to not being old enough yet! That and just being diagnosed with epilepsy, it’s all fun here!

fairydustandpixies · 25/04/2021 20:05

Another one for the dishwasher! I live alone so I can't even delegate the emptying. I hate emptying it so much that I will resort to using my plastic picnic cutlery rather than opening the demon machine and getting out and putting away the clean stuff. Dishwasher stuff is a bit too squeaky for my liking.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 25/04/2021 20:06

Making packed lunches.
I make four every night. Takes far longer than I think reasonable, plus having to remember to top up fresh bread, salad, fruit etc. But kids don't enjoy the canteen food, and I hate wasting all my lunch break on driving out to get something, so packed lunch it is.

huggzy · 25/04/2021 20:07

I hate emptying the dishwasher. The beeping noise it makes when the cycle is finished makes me feel angry!

doubleshotespresso · 25/04/2021 20:07

@EveningOverRooftops

No real freedom - unpaid carer Chronic underachiever and I know I could do so much better than I am but most people overlook and soon to be 40 single mother with no real experience.
I'm with you, nobody unless they've been in the position of being a full time unpaid Carer can possibly understand the relentlessly soul destroying impacts upon your life x
EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 25/04/2021 20:08

Changing the duvet cover on my weighted blanket. I should really do it this evening.
Making the bed look presentable with my weighted blanket.

  • Love sleeping with it though.
Watchingstars88 · 25/04/2021 20:08

Getting washing in (putting it out is no problem, just loathe getting it in)
Putting clean bedding on beds
Ironing
Spiders
Misophonia (certain sounds drive me mad)

LadyCatStark · 25/04/2021 20:10

Lycra clad road cyclists. Every fucking where.

homesickinscotland · 25/04/2021 20:10

Masks. Loathe them and can't wait until they are gone.

Movinghouseatlast · 25/04/2021 20:11

Fucking recycling and rubbish. I am awash with it, there is so much plastic I just HATE it.

Frokkolini · 25/04/2021 20:15

@InFiveMins I agree with the cats. Litter sodding everywhere, poo smells and expensive to feed. I have 3 chickens who are lower maintenance than my 2 kittys.

Light-hearted: thinking about food and meals constantly for the kids! Knowing you HAVE to add veg whilst knowing they will ONLY eat 2 bites so you get second hand veg on your own plate for your own dinner after working then cooking another sodding meal that gets moaned about anyway Shock! And breathe...

Serious: the constant feeling that I will inevitably fail at anything to do with my job or education. I am desperate to retrain and do my first ever degree but actually start to cry almost every time I think about it. It's like a crippling low self-esteem thing. I don't have it with any other aspect of my life: kids, being a wife, a daughter, a friend, a cook etc... seems so silly now I write it down.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 25/04/2021 20:15

@Confusedandshaken Instead of gel nail varnish, try Essie's TLC; it's a conditioning varnish with no base coat that you change quite often. I used it for manicures, even take my own to the salon, and you could see the 'before and after' line creeping up my nails as the weak nails grew out.
My chiropodist was horrified at gel varnish on my toes a few years ago - cuts off the air to your nails apparently.

JackieWeaverFever · 25/04/2021 20:17

FizzyPink · 25/04/2021 20:18

Calorie counting

I want to be skinny much more than I want to eat bad food but I’m so bloody bored of calculating how many calories are in every single thing I eat.

Also DP is a weed and trying to put on weight so I spend my life avoiding all of his high calorie snacks and tweaking meals so mine is as few calories as possible and his contains as many as I can fit on the plate.

Usernameisgone · 25/04/2021 20:18

The washing up. Hate it!

FizzyPink · 25/04/2021 20:24

@WishICouldThinkOfAGoodName my DP had horrific eczema on his hands for years and nothing worked on it. A few weeks ago I ordered him this from Amazon and it’s completely cleared it up, it’s honestly magic - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B003BQDPCK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

isthismylifenow · 25/04/2021 20:30

Drying my hair.

Oh how I wish I had hair that I could just wash and leave. But oh no, it's has to have oil in it and then be blow dried and then straightened.
