Invigilator ended test five minutes early

I had a test yesterday that was meant to be 1 hour long. I was nearly finished and had four questions to go but was told by the invigilator that the test was finished and to stop what we were doing (there were only two other people left doing their exam at this point). I was a bit surprised because I thought you were normally given about 5 minutes notice, so I said "We're finished" which he replied "Erm yes". This was a computer based exam so I was told there and then that I failed.

I have just signed into my account to see what areas need improving and it said that the duration of the test was only 55 minutes. AIBU here? Should I complain? I didn't notice at the time because I was concentrating.

The tutor should not also be an invigilator for any courses they teach.

He is an invigilator for the same awarding body but he wasn't an invigilator for my exam yesterday.

He can't be an invigilator a college or institution where he teaches.

I am unsure what mentioning it to him will achieve unless it is to clarify in your mind what should have happened. The appropriate person to report it to was the exams officer and immediately after the exam.

He isn't an invigilator at the college but he is an invigilator. I was just going to ask for his opinion

Why bother asking here for advice if you ignore it. Talking to your tutor is irrelevant. The exam was not invigilated correctly and needs to be reported to the person in charge of exams - the exams officer to investigate and ensure this doesn’t happen again. It should be done immediately...

You should do it immediately because if the exam is to be anulled and you get to retake because they didn't give you the correct amount of time, that needs to be done as soon as possible after the exam. Generally where I work we say students who experience this should do it the day after the exam.
