Does Margaret have children then? I watched a few episodes of the Crown where she was very unlucky in love but never managed to settle down to watch further to find out whether she had ever married. I skipped to where Diana entered. Which reminds me that I must go back and watch the rest of it.

SuziQuatrosFatNan · 17/04/2021 21:29

I've just googled her and she doesn't look the same as the rest of them so maybe that's the secret: don't marry your cousin.

SuziQuatrosFatNan · 17/04/2021 21:30

Which one's Margaret? Is she the one with the horses?

Isthereaduckinthehouse · 17/04/2021 21:30

It's a bit Jeremy Kyle with all of them. Jeremy Kyle's guests with money. People are the same the world over I suppose.

In different circumstances, you might have had Diana pulling the head of Camilla on stage while Charles innocently looked on.

Margaret is the Queen's sister and is the one that I always get jumbled up with Anne who is the Queen's daughter. Anne has horses. Don't know much about Margaret.

Then you could have Hewitt entering to add a bit of depth to part 2 of Jeremy Kyle.
SuziQuatrosFatNan · 17/04/2021 21:33

It totally is Jeremy Kyle, you're right. I think all the real aristocracy are v Kyle in general though. I was reading about the Mitfords recently and they're the same. Not the cousin aspect but the mad drama.

FlattestWhite · 17/04/2021 21:33

Margaret died about 20 years ago I think, and she had a couple of children - I think they were both there today but I'd never pick them out of a line-up!!

SuziQuatrosFatNan · 17/04/2021 21:36

Yes I think I'm getting Anne and Margaret mixed up as well then. It's really hard when they all look the same.

SuziQuatrosFatNan · 17/04/2021 21:39

Who are cousins?

All of the royals. Isn't Philip a cousin too?

Isthereaduckinthehouse · 17/04/2021 21:43

I heard over the past week that Phillip is a cousin somehow of Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth is also related to her. I'm useless at trying to understand things though unless I see a diagram of who is married to who to see the connection.

Isthereaduckinthehouse · 17/04/2021 21:44

I'm not sure whether they are blood relatives in any way. It wasn't mentioned.

maddy68 · 17/04/2021 21:44

I didn't nb cause I was out y with friends. But why judge anyone that chooses to?

Oh! Well that's why I've always presumed Anne was Margaret then.
nopenotplaying · 17/04/2021 21:47

Gosh there are some awful replies here. Yes 👍🏻 d course I did!

to be out y with friend?

I'd be out y myself with friends if I had a chance.

SuziQuatrosFatNan · 17/04/2021 21:52

No I don't know the ins and outs of it either but him and the Queen were cousins of some sort. The more recent ones don't do that so much now because they all kept getting conditions from being so closely related.

But then just to confuse things more either Anne or Margaret married someone with the surname Philip. So not related but same name in there somewhere. It's like they can't help themselves.

Anne's first husband was Captain Mark Philips. That's probably who you're thinking of.
Frownette · 17/04/2021 22:21

PP and queen were 3rd cousins, so practically unrelated

Isthereaduckinthehouse · 17/04/2021 22:25

So cousins married to cousins of cousins or something?

Conditions? Closely related?

Please, do look up the 'ins and outs' of it and come back to explain

I'm sure she didn't marry Mark Phillips became his surname was similar to her fathers forename.

HeronLanyon · 17/04/2021 22:34

Philip and the Queen were/are both great grandchildren of Queen Victoria.
Princess Margaret (sister of the Queen) who died (20?) years ago did have children Viscount Linley (a furniture designer/maker) with Patrick Lichfield (photographer). I think also a daughter (?) Unless I’ve got it all wrong 😃

HeronLanyon · 17/04/2021 22:36

Anthony Armstrong Jones was Margaret’s husband not Lichfield

Isthereaduckinthehouse · 17/04/2021 22:50

Nieces and nephews become less relevant when grandchildren come along I feel which is probably why any interest in Margaret and her offspring hasn't been covered by media since William was born.

Bamburghdoodle · 17/04/2021 22:53

I hope you are kinder, less shallow and less judgemental with people in your own life. I’d re read over some of your comments - maybe the embarrassment with help you grow as a person.
