To call the police if this happens one more time

I am so sick of our fucking neighbours they just have absolutely no respect for anyone.

There have been a few issues but my biggest annoyance recently is that they and their friends just seem to think it's fine to use our driveway all the time. They have a front garden, we have a drive. They are separated by a fence but there is a gap at the top to get bins in and out of the back of the houses.

Their friends are always riding motorbikes up and down our drive, or even just pacing up and down it taking phone calls. I have gone out and asked several times that they don't do this because it sets off our dog and often wakes our baby from his naps either by the dog barking or the noise from the bikes.

They have just done it again and woken up the baby, so I went out, crying baby in my arms and asked them to stop (politely) and to use their friends front garden if they wanted to get their bike out.

I just received a load of abuse back and he continued off down my drive.

AIBU to think this is cheeky as fuck and to ring the police if I see one person from there step foot on my property again when they shouldn't be?

Stop being polite, a good 'get the fucking fuck off my fucking drive you fucking fucker' might just do the trick. They are bullying you when you are home alone, give them the finger and generally be as rude as they are, its what they understand.

Obviously can't do this if your husband has a works car but if not whilst you wait for the gate to be fitted swap cars so they think he is in, swap back if you suspect they have realised but it will buy you a few days grace.

Gate, fence, solicitors.

Absolutely they can. They're not commiting an offence, they can claim damages

They'd have to prove the damage was from OP's drive,

@thebabessavedme agreed! Politeness would have gone out the window a long time ago. Tell them to fuck off. And if they don’t, a big bucket of water thrown at them. “I’m cleaning my drive and you’re in the way, maybe now you’ll fuck off”.

Ilovemypantry · 19/04/2021 15:52

Get your Dad to lend you a “stinger” that the police use to puncture tyres of nasty villains, camouflage with leaves or something, sit back with a cuppa and wait to enjoy your revenge.

They are obviously complete wankers but I’m amazed you haven’t prioritised making your property secure. Can’t understand how they let your dog out ... you should have proper locks on things. Proper gates / proper boundaries with padlocks. This is really basic.

Longer term, seriously, consider moving and in future avoid any properties with shared access space like passageways and shared driveways, it’s a dead cert for conflict.

If you can’t afford a gate now make one out of anything - pallets whatever. Look on freecycle or eBay as well.

Focusing on a practical solution will be better for you also, rather than expecting these horrible people to behave decently. They have shown you that they are wankers, so proceed accordingly.

Good luck!

Look on Freecycle or similar sites, or go to the tip/recycle centre; lots of people get rid of old gates. Then you just need the fixings. I realise that only solves the one problem though and they will still ride up and down the passage way noisily and access your drive from the road. Sounds hideous, I'd want to move too.

Get your dog to start doing his 💩 business 💩 by the bins so that they walk in it. Then get a pressure washer to hose down the mess and accidentally hose them down too.
