If I walked into your office carrying this bag

What would your first thought be? Too loud? Too big? Great bag to fit everything in?

I love it. I'd use it, but prefer a (stylish) rucksack these days to cart around laptop, cables etc. (Very senior accountant in the Big 4)

PearTreeBoat · 16/04/2021 18:36

I love the bag (maybe not the price as much but you've got to treat yourself every now and then)
Though if you walked into my office it wouldn't matter what bag you were carrying is just want to know how you managed to get in 🤣🤣🤣

m0therofdragons · 16/04/2021 18:37

I love Kate Spade bags. Fine in an office imo.

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 16/04/2021 18:37

You will be so fed up of that pattern after a few weeks. Good for the beach though.

TheMoth · 16/04/2021 18:37

I'd love a job that meant I could just carry a handbag. I have a rucksack with laptop, charger, water bottle, resources, spare masks, a million pens, plastic folders and books in.

Zandathepanda · 16/04/2021 18:38

I would think keep it close to you as it has no zip so things could be nicked from it or contents will get wet if it rains.

Onlinedilema · 16/04/2021 18:40

I wouldn’t think anything, but I’m not interested in bags.

Whythesadface · 16/04/2021 18:41

It's too much for what it is,
It's not really an office bag, and does not give an impression of business, more that you;d rather go to the beach.

PomLikeTheBattle · 16/04/2021 18:43

@QuietBatPeople1 Are you near Bicester? There is a Kate Spade outlet there - often with 50% or more off.

NotImpossible · 16/04/2021 18:47

I doubt I'd notice. If I found out what it cost I might think you were a bit mad (I'm not a bag person) but I don't think it's particularly noticeable.

LysistrataVickers · 16/04/2021 18:48

It's a nice bag. If you said how much you'd paid for it I'd think you were mad/made of money!

SarsonsWine · 16/04/2021 18:50

I'd think you had more money than sense to spend £350 on a bag.

GreyGoose1980 · 16/04/2021 18:50

I don’t think it’s too big or too loud but equally it wouldn’t catch my eye as a bag I’d really want and it doesn’t look as expensive as it is.

NotImpossible · 16/04/2021 18:50

Oh, and it's about 100x what I would pay for a bag (my current one was exactly £3.50 from a charity shop)!

Escourtie · 16/04/2021 18:51

Its A nice Bag but I certainly wouldnt pay that for one
@QuietBatPeople1 Have you purchased one?

Mollymarvelous · 16/04/2021 18:51

Like it . Not too loud even in a corporate office . Maybe boarderline in a suit and tie kind of place.

Agree it’s not ideal with laptops . I started out with these bags early in my career before being sensible and getting backpack styles and proper laptop bags . Knomo do nice ones.

It says ... more junior than senior .. if you care about that kind of thing.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 16/04/2021 18:53

I’d think it was ok for a certain demographic of woman - looks like the sort of bag some of my colleagues who are older would use, younger ones 20s and 30s tend to use just some sort of random canvas tote, corduroy tote, kanken backpack, or a leather backpack maybe from dr martens or Ted baker dependent on personal style. I have a Herschel backpack .

TatianaBis · 16/04/2021 18:54

I’d think Kate Spade has much nicer bags for that price that wouldn’t mark as quickly as jacquard.

I’d also think it’s a bit Orla Kiely and I didn’t like her stuff.

IntermittentParps · 16/04/2021 18:54

Some people are really miserable Grin

I'd probably say, 'Ooh, nice bag' and we'd have a little chat about it.

1Morewineplease · 16/04/2021 18:54

I'd think that it was a bit pretentious. If someone were to come to my work with that bag, I'd think you were saying " LOOK AT MY BAG! ARENT I AMAZING!"

But then, I don't work for Goldman Sachs.

Mollymarvelous · 16/04/2021 18:55

I’d totally ignore the people saying it’s too expensive . Nice bags cost money because people buy them at that price point . Ideally it would be leather and if not you’re paying for the brand. If your into bags and you value this brand ( and can afford it of course ) then it’s not too much .

Can we know more about your lifestyle

HouseofWindsor · 16/04/2021 18:56

Looking at the price I would think you had more money than sense

sanityisamyth · 16/04/2021 18:57

£350??? I struggled to justify paying £50 for a bag I really wanted! I'd rather spend that much money on my horse than on me!

MrsBobDylan · 16/04/2021 18:57

I'd wonder how a bag that cost £350 could look so cheap?

JustSleepAlready · 16/04/2021 18:59

Looks like the back of a deck of cards. Wouldn’t pay £35 for that.
