Husband snored for years
I resent it so much. Kept me awake for years. It's isolating and stressful being awake in the night.

Realised the other week if I let him snore it out instead of waking him every couple of minutes after about 5 -10 Mins the snoring stops!!!

I have tried it for about a week now just over. It honestly works.

Are you going to try it tonight?

I cracked the snoring issue years ago: separate bedrooms.

Works a treat.

UmbilicusProfundus · 15/04/2021 09:29

I thought you were going to try to sell us something.

Have you really never let him snore for more than a couple of minutes in all these years?

Well done on finding something that works for you

Cocomarine · 15/04/2021 09:30

I’m really glad that it works for you, as I really feel your pain.
Sadly - it’s not a magic bullet for all.
No difference here.

Amusingly, a “will you fucking shut the fuck up?” doesn’t actually stop it without waking him... but only for about 30 seconds.

GoodbyeH · 15/04/2021 09:31

I realised after a few years that DH only snores on his back. So now I just give him a shuv and he rolls over and stops.

cosmopolitanplease · 15/04/2021 09:33

Separate bedrooms are the future. Heavenly.

cariadlet · 15/04/2021 09:35

Only thing that worked for my dp was to lose loads of weight. Unfortunately the weight's started to creep back on and the snoring's coming back too.

Cocomarine · 15/04/2021 09:36

You’re lucky. Mine snores worse on his back. I shove him over. Not long later, he’s just rolled back again. I have considered sewing a tennis ball into the back of his pyjamas 😫
TheOpen · 15/04/2021 09:39

By 10 mins I'd be fully awake for the next 1-2 hours. It's exhausting sleeping next to a snorer.

The only thing that works for me is me going to sleep about 20 mins before him, that way his 'going to sleep' snoring happens when I'm deeply asleep. It's the 'middle of the night snoring' that wakes me up.

Ilikeanimalsmorethanpeople · 15/04/2021 09:42

I shout at mine to move onto his side but used to elbow him in the ribs..worked a treat until he slept lower down on the bed and I killed one of his teeth Hmm

Gobbeldegook · 15/04/2021 09:54

Well that's disappointing.

Blimeyoreilleystrews · 15/04/2021 09:54

Industrial earplugs (I buy moldex spark plugs in bulk from Amazon) that block out up to 35 dB. Have used them for years.

yumscrumfatbum · 15/04/2021 09:56

Mine snores for hours. I shove him onto his side but sometimes he just rolls back arghh

said by someone who has clearly not gone through years and years of broken sleep

potter5 · 15/04/2021 09:58

Dog and husband in competition every night for loudest and longest snorefest!
Earplugs are my friend here.😀

DrSbaitso · 15/04/2021 09:59

I shove him very hard and he rolls over and stops. He's huge and a very heavy sleeper, it doesn't wake him.

Billythecandlestickmaker · 15/04/2021 10:02

I wear headphones, although now I'm starting to get headaches from having headphones in all night.

I was hoping this thread would give me the answer. It hasn't.

DP also does the jerky leg thing. Can go on for hours.

Earplugs are my next go to.

ceilingsand · 15/04/2021 10:08

Following!

LadyCatStark · 15/04/2021 10:19

That would not work for DH. A sharp elbow works for a while or @Cocomarine’s method 😂.

doctorhamster · 15/04/2021 10:24

DH generally goes on for hours. I've laid there next to him in tears many a time.

Sagelistener · 15/04/2021 10:25

Mine lost weight and stopped snoring too. What a difference.

Iwantacookie · 15/04/2021 10:33

I hold dp nose until he shuts up

JustSleepAlready · 15/04/2021 10:35

We both snore. If he’s really
Bothering me I wiggle him, shake him, tell
Him
To roll
Over, swift elbow ! Don’t know what he does cos I sleep thru...

Spanglebangle · 15/04/2021 10:43

That doesn't work.

Hold a pillow over their face until the struggling stops. They'll never snore again 100% guaranteed!

BanditoShipman · 15/04/2021 10:43

For those of you using earplugs, how do you then hear the alarm to get up?

twinkletoedelephant · 15/04/2021 10:46

Dh snores loudly.... if I shove poke move him he wakes up he's a very very light sleeper allways woke first when dc cried as babies except he refuses to believe its that bad or on fact he was snoring af all as apparently he wasn't asleep and I was imagining it.... I did once record him but he got VERY arsey about that.... my options are moving to front room which is right next to our bedroom, so still here his snoring and get it in surround sounds as doggo snores too...or attempt to crash on the floor in one of the kids room which they would hate, and more likely to wake up and tell me how much they hate it (asd) I have previously attempted the bathroom....but the dog thinks he would very much like to come sleep next to me if I am up... I dream off my own bedroom (I've never had my own bedroom)
