Never ever again!!

I let my daughter have a sleepover and never ever again!! She is 8, didn’t sleep at all. I told them lights out at 10 and they were in bed or do it seemed ok it’s a bit later but because she usually goes to bed at 8.30 -9 and is up at 8. -9 and it’s holidays plus the girls mom said she her daughter slept late so was fine. I didn’t expect this one. Il
Exhausted woke up at 1 after hearing them whisper loudly and bang around then again at 2.30 then finally slept I think but have no idea and heard them again at 7.30 wide awake.
Am I being unreasonable to say never again until she is a teenager? Sorry but my daughter would normally sleep a good 10-11 hrs and sleeps well and needs her sleep. This is a joke and never expected them not to barely sleep
Am I being unreasonable?

Sounds really normal for a sleepover. I guess it depends on how much trouble they were causing. Awake and having a disco at 1am - not ok. Awake and just chatting - totally normal and ok if there weren’t keeping everyone awake.
I think it’s ok to have a bit less sleep every once in a while for a special occasion.
Did you have sleepovers as a kid?

Sorry to tell you - that sounds around par for the course although they were thoughtless banging around. (for that I used to get them all up at 8 for breakfast. Pancakes so they didn't grasp that it was punishment for waking us up. Depending on how little sleep we'd has the dishwasher was out of action so they all had to wash up.
Have a word about being considerate. And put your feet up today if you can

Yeah sorry I’m not uptight 😂 just didn’t expect this I guess. I’m naive maybe as I remember sleepovers at 12 at my mates and yes we went to bed late but did sleep through the night and late in the morning knowing my daughter who needs her sleep it’s going to be a long day lol. Maybe 8 is too young. Anyway like someone said she will sleep later

Perfectly normal and more importantly - fun! Sleepover is well known as the most inaccurate name ever.
Sleepovers should be Fridays or school holidays so you all have a minimum of 2 days to recover.
Simply sleeping at a friend's house - where's the fun in that? 😁 It should be staying up and midnight snacks followed by 2 days of walking round like a zombie.

Hahaha! Sorry I know you’re tired but this thread made my day. Welcome to the world of sleepovers. It’s really sweet that you think that gets better/easier the older the get! So funny. Bless you. My 11 year old had a sleepover with 2 friends for his birthday. I eventually went to bed at midnight and left them to their giggling and banging. They were then up again on their iPads at 7am. When asked if they’d got any sleep one of them said “we don’t sleep on sleepovers we stay up eating chocolate” one of them had hidden a tub of heroes in his sleepover rucksack so they were sugared up all night. My son said it’s the best birthday ever.
Long story short. They won’t sleep on sleepovers. If you want 10 hour sleep don’t have a sleepover

Always one isn't there!

Honestly you've got no concept of where the OP is, so why bother chirping up? I'm within the British Isles and we can have sleepovers. Not everyone lives in the same place as you.

That’s what sleepovers are for. My mum never organised any but we would go to scouts/brownie camps every 3-4 months. They lasted a whole weekend and there was school on the Monday. Up all night and waking up at 5am to sing or shout something or celebrate someone finally taking a trip to the loo in the woods. It was fab. I’m a productive adult even with a handful of sleepless nights as a child

You got off lighty.
I naively let my dc3 have a sleepover for her 9th birthday. They slept downstairs where I couldn't hear them. The kids proudly told me they counted down to midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am and 7am. They said they missed 6 am as they were all asleep. They were wrecked! I was mortified when I handed them back to parents. It was only at that point that I remembered there was a reason I'd never let my eldest 2 have sleepovers...
