Strictly Ballroom and Muriel's wedding 😱🥳

Love these movies!

Thought I'd be a good sister to fellow MNers and spread the word Grin

The most important question: which one to watch first?

I watched Muriel last night, it was great. Much sadder than I remember it being though (must be 20 plus years since I last saw it). Thanks for starting this thread OP. Strictly probably tonight.

I'll make my way through the other ones - we have Now TV, Prime and Netflix, so hopefully I'll be able to track some of the other suggestions down.

@Needhelp101

Another old New Zealand film and wonderful, The Piano. Remember Anna Paquin getting her Oscar at 11?
That's an amazing film.

I went to a preview showing of Strictly Ballroom when I was at Uni cos one of my mates was film editor on the student paper. We loved it so much we ended up running along the streets doing bullfighting dances and singing 'Rumba Des Burros". In the middle of the day, with no alcohol involved.

Muriels wedding is the best!!!

Ladies in Black is fantastic. It was in Netflix but I don't know if it's still there.

Kenny

How someone managed to make a movie about porta-loos, I’ll never know. We found it hilarious - “a smell that’ll outlast religion.”

Kath and Kim

Twice now we’ve made a point of driving out to “Fountain Lakes” Westfield when we’ve visited Melbourne, hoping to buy a sausage off Kel. “I want to be effluent mum, effluent!”. “Where pacifically in the Specific are you going, Mrs D?”

British crime/police dramas are the best though, I love my VPN! Opened up a whole new world of sitting on my arse watching TV. Love it.

How could I have forgotten The Piano. Absolutely brilliant.

A great newer Aussie movie is Top End Wedding.
