Is this a boring gift choice?

It's my friends 30th birthday next week.
She is notoriously difficult to buy for.
She has booked a hair apt for may and she never ever gets her hair done as it's quite expensive.
I had the idea of getting her a gift card for £40 for her birthday.
Or is this a boring gift?
I don't have a clue what else to get her
I was thinking perfume but she probably already has lots of different scents.

Aibu to go for the boring gift card present?
I know it's not very imaginative.

I love a gift card! So much nicer to choose something for myself than something that's prob v nice but not something I'd really choose .

It’s a lovely gift. My dad gets my sister and I a hair voucher every Christmas as a little extra treat. It comes in handy every January!

StoneofDestiny · 06/04/2021 20:25

I'd love that

I think a gift card towards hair appt is a great idea and if someone gave me that I would be delighted.

Sounds great, don't worry! Some people are hard to buy for and coming up with a gift card is the best solution. You can add things like a handmade or even a Birthday video card just to make the gift funnier, but I think your choice is already perfect.

I think it's a very useful gift, I would be happy with that.
