Just that. Potatoes go in fridge. They stay fresh for longer. Don't know anyone else who does this. (Eggs room temp).

I used to keep them in the fridge, when I had space and access to shops.

They just need cool and dark conditions, as a child ours were home grown, stored in the shed in an old wooden cabinet, in newspaper, they lasted a year.

I now use a potato store basket. Can't post a photo, it won't upload my post, something is wrong with the site at the moment.

Yes we do. Our fridge has a big vegetable tray so they go in there. We don’t have anywhere else for them to go tbh.
Not sure if it makes a difference but we don’t buy many and what we do get eaten fairly quickly

Potatoes belong in a dark bag in a cupboard. Add a couple of apples and they last longer.
Tomatoes out the fridge - I'm going to experiment with cucumber as that seems to go off quickly in the fridge.

Basket - have posted it in site stuff, to see if it worked on a different browser.

Great tip for celery - keep whole and wrap in tin foil, in the fridge- just break off what you need then rewrap. Stays crunchy for weeks

I do because I have no pantry or basement now
