to ask my ex to pick kids up from my mums rather than mine

I txt him last night to ask (I did say please) him to pick them up today from my mums rather than mine.
Same time just house 5 mins drive from mine - no further time for him.

bit of background - the last time he picked them up from my mums she shouted at him for being a selfish man (which he is) & the children were in the car. Considering what we;ve been through & that this has happened once in 2 yrs, I dont think one rant from my mum warrants his refusal to ever go there again. He says Im putting my social engagement b4 the kids

the truth is hes coming at 10.30am and will return at 4pm so yes my parents are doing me a favour so I can go Xmas shopping without children and have some time - it takes 40 mins to get to the next decent town.

He's being unreasonable. Stick to your plans and as for saying you're putting your social engagement before the kids words fail me considering his history.

Say no problem but when he comes to get them / return them ask your mum to get them from your house and then take them back to hers, that'll shock him!!

Have a good day shopping!

If you're asking for a sanity check - YANBU - I think it is clearly a case of him not you.

If you are asking for sympathy - you have mine.

If you are asking for advice - I'll have to hand you back to the others.

Make sure you get that day to yourself though.

Doing a bit of Christmas shopping for the children isn't in their best interests??

Tell him he either picks them up from your mum's or they stay there for the day. He is being totally unreasonable. Oh and, if he does collect, ask your mum to button it for your sake!
