What would you ban?

The dog thread has got me pondering...

I'd ban smoking. Ideally full stop but would settle for at least anywhere outside of your own house. It smells. Its unhealthy not just for you but for people around you who don't choose to smoke. Causes thousands of deaths.

Also wasps. I want to be able to sit out in an evening and not be bugged by them. They can also sting me and have zero consequences. Described as voracious predators. I understand they pollinate stuff but surely we have Bees for that (and other things) why do we need angry Wasps too?

And prawn cocktail crisps. Just No.

When we live in a bluetatorship I will give out free milk and cookies but take away your stupid sounding crisps!

Weed. Skunk. Oh hang on, isn't that foul stench emitter already illegal? So it is.. I'll ban it anyway.
All the fuckers drug drive round here too.... And this is considered the nicest area in town 🙄🙄

Horridcreature · 03/04/2021 15:02

Smoking
Bad dog owners that don’t keep dogs under control or clean up after them
Packaging designed to make it impossible to access the product.

Sundances · 03/04/2021 15:03

scruffy people
Everyone must comb or brush their hair, do up some buttons, stand and walk with good posture, have a positive pleasant expression that should cut the numbers in Tesco

Ponoka7 · 03/04/2021 15:06

"Nits, I mean what actually IS their point apart from to piss you off?"

All lice are thought to help control the immune system in mammals and prevent immune dysfunctions. They bring us into direct contact with different pathogens and bacteria than we might otherwise encounter. We can't study this in humans, because we'd have to keep a baby in a controlled environment, but animal studies have shown this to be true.

"scruffy people

Bye bye Boris.

Putting the clocks back in winter.
Any of the current cabinet ever holding public office again.
Cat calling out of vehicles.
Marriage under 18.
SUVs aka Chelsea Tractors unless you take your driving test in them.

SimonJT · 03/04/2021 15:20

Packaging that can’t be opened without scissors, particularly when you need scissors to open your new scissors.

Excess disposable packaging.

Meat and Dairy.
Though maybe not meat? if the animal can live until its natural death and it's not in a cage or barn. I think I'd be ok with that. But no slaughter houses. If they had to be euthanized due to illness,we would forward the same respect that we do dogs and cats,by not enduring the fear of standing in a kill line. Or being gassed. Or thrown alive into a blender. Or a farmer shoving his arm up your arse to impregnate you before taking your calf away. Or hung upside down and plunged into boiling hot electrified water. Or living in a barn with 10,000 other birds stood in your own urine and faeces. Or in a cage so small that you can't turn around even when your young piglets are suckling. (All red tractor_RSPCA approved methods)
Although we don't have sow crates here a more. But most of the pork we eat is imported and would have been raised this way.

The repetitive, hateful, tediously dull posts whinging about dogs. Dogs aren’t going anywhere, get used to them. Just as I have had to get used to your irritating screeching feral kids 🐶

TatianaBis · 03/04/2021 15:27

Yy to the OP’s choices, also:

Frogs. And cream cheese 🤮

GreenWheat · 03/04/2021 15:41

I would ban nits. They serve no purpose in life other than to support the nit shampoo industry.

coachmylife · 03/04/2021 15:45

Free parking - parking should be paid for everywhere.

Putting clocks back

The huge waspm in the bedroom yesterday obviously doesn't know about July

That would have been a Queen looking for a nesting place - we had one in our bathroom yesterday too - HUGE. They're not out to hassle us at this time of year though. As a pp said, they're busy until they get turfed out of the nest and then they go looking for sugar and attack us for our ice creams and beers.

I'd ban objectification and commidification of human beings. I think it is the most toxic thing the human race has ever invented.

poppycat10 · 03/04/2021 15:52

@floridamanatee

Those spacer things that stretch out people's earlobes. They always make me feel a bit faint when I see them
There's always a contestant on Masterchef who has those, and I am always relieved when they get knocked out, so I don't to have to look at them anymore.
poppycat10 · 03/04/2021 15:55

@MrsExpo

Bikes, and the arrogant idiots who ride them.
SUVs and the arrogant idiots who drive them.

Fixed that for you.

Misused apostrophes. Lifetime in prison for that offense.

It is offence not offense!
