AIBU about workmen’s cold drinks

We are having new windows and a front door fitted.
I was out all day with the dog, but when I returned DP said he’d got some cold drinks in for the fitters, as they had been asking for them.
They had been offered and had drunk many cups of tea and coffee, but apparently wanted cold drinks too.
We have lemon squash in the house which they could drink, but they wanted coke and fruit juices.

My DP went to the shop and purchased Coke and Oasis for them.

My thoughts are: they’ve had hot drinks and a suitable cold drink has been offered.
If my DP can go to the shop and purchase drinks, why can’t they?

They worked 9-5 today and will do approx 9-1 tomorrow and we live in a small city, so not long days away from civilisation!

I know it’s not the end of the world, but requesting specific drinks, that we wouldn’t have in the house otherwise, seems a bit much!

I don't think it's a huge deal, but it depends how the conversation went. I would imagine they asked if there were any cold drinks, your DH said lemon squash, and then they said something like "haven't you got any coke?" And then DH offered to get some.

I can't see them demanding that your DH goes to the shop to get them things. If that is what happened then of course they were being cheeky bastards.

I'm gutted.

At the end of last year, I had new guttering/soffits/facia, new windows and doors, and a new boiler.

Not one of the tradesmen suggested I get my joysex seen to at the same time.

I'm planning on having the bathroom done this year. Maybe they'll see to my joysex as well?

I think lemon squash should be sufficient for a window renovation but for a joysex renovation you definitely need something with a little more caffeine. I had my carawank done over and they had the cheek to ask for bacon butty!

I’m actually impressed at their audacity btw. I still think that they’re CFers and YANBU to be annoyed but DH asked plus some people do keep those things in. We’ve permanently got Pepsi Max in for example 😂

I have an annual boiler check scheduled today. I should ask if the joysex needs renovating whilst they're here really.

I seriously doubt they actually came out with can I have a coke and or fruit juice. I suspect they were asked if they wanted a cold drink and said "oh yes please, do you have a coke/fruit juice" your husband said yes and then went to the shop to purchase them for them.

I offered squash (or water) for our builders, who worked outside in 30 degrees.
