Buddy and his Missus are in the boat, but facing each other.
They've been going round in circles for ten minutes.
Am I an ass hole for laughing?

I'm trying to guess were you are. Somewhere on the Gorge, caddy bay? (I don't expect you to give yourself away;)

Seafog · 30/03/2021 03:15

@Onesailwait on the end of Christie Point, I can see the bridge by Craigflower if I turn one way, and around the point and up the gorge the other way

Beautiful, thought it looked familiar l used to live in Vic West. I'm out Sooke way now

Seafog · 30/03/2021 03:22

Nice! Gorgeous area! I go hiking that way sometimes, and have plans for a pothole trip/swim this summer when it warms a bit

It really is. We went kayaking after school today. Otter point round to the stickleback for dinner. Our last dinner out until April 29th !

MNWorldisCrazy · 30/03/2021 03:33

@Seafog

And the picture is off the back deck, here in British Columbia
Whereabouts in BC are you? I've spent a lot of time in Vancouver & Vancouver Island. Also Vernon too

Jees life must be boring in Canada. Even in total lockdown in the Uk I wouldn't be tempted to post this op!

Seafog · 30/03/2021 03:37

Sounds amazing! I have asked dh for a kayak or a canoe for mother's day, so we'll see!

I was just reading about our worsening situation, it's going to be hard, but I hope it works

Yeah, praying the schools don't close again. I'm putting my trust in Dr Bonnie. We got our Kayaks from Costco, nothing fancy but they do the job. Enjoy your beautiful sunset, it can't be far off now.

@Seafog

Buddy, and Missus, are euphemisms for people you don't know, but are talking about
In Ireland, it’s yer man and yer one. So hilariously dismissive. Grin

Heard them for the first time when I first started going out with DH and had to adopt them, even though I’m from a million miles away, and don’t have the accent to pull them off.

Hydrate · 30/03/2021 06:19

I was right! I thought to myself when you wrote "buddy", bet she's from down east!

Gremlinsateit · 30/03/2021 07:00

I knew what you meant and that you were Canadian because of a hilarious discussion I read years ago about the apparently friendly words people in different countries use as an insult to/about people they don’t know - like buddy for Canadians, sunshine, matey, buster etc.

Tejutas · 30/03/2021 08:26

I knew what you meant OP, found it funny. All this cod-baffled Englishness is quite irritating.

DinosApple · 30/03/2021 08:32

I only read the first page OP. I got it Grin.

We hired boats near Aldeburgh in Suffolk a few years ago. And I was completely shit at rowing. So much so I couldn't get away from the edge and the man had to keep pushing it away whilst my mates laughed their heads off... Grin
