I feel like one of either but I never know what combination of things to order. All the bits. Lol

(And to clarify that's Chinese OR Indian, not both together!)

OP posts:
YouWerePrettyIWasLonely · 27/03/2021 19:51

Usually a spice bag with a side order of noodles and veg from the Chinese takeaway.

miltonj · 27/03/2021 19:53

We've just finished a Chinese (lots left over). We ordered prawn crackers obviously, spring rolls, prawn toast, salt and pepper chips, sweet and sour king prawns, crispy shredded chicken and egg fried rice. A lot but there's plenty left for tomorrow!

Figgygal · 27/03/2021 19:53

Indian
Chicken dhansak

Chinese
Lemon chicken
crispy chilli beef

Thesearmsofmine · 27/03/2021 19:56

Chinese, shredded chicken curry with chips or egg fried rice, onion rings(our local does the most amazing ones)

Indian, korma, rice and cheese naan,

Potterythrowdown · 27/03/2021 19:56

Indian
Veggie bhuna
Rice
Garlic naan
Onion bhaji
Poppadom

I've not had a Chinese since I've been veggie and we've moved house so no idea what I'd order now or from where. I should probably rectify this soon.

AbsolutelyCrapuless · 27/03/2021 19:59

Chinese -
salt and pepper chips
Shredded crispy chicken
Chicken chow mien
Sweet and sour chicken
Mini spring rolls
(I could eat pretty much anything from the Chinese tbh)

Indian
Chicken Balti (sometimes saag aloo)
Egg fried rice
Onion bahjis
Cheese and garlic naan 🤤 (seriously it’s amazing the day after as well)

howmanyroads · 27/03/2021 19:59

Indian tonight was:

Onion bhaji
Chicken jalfrezi
Chicken biryani
Garlic Naan

MadMadMadamMim · 27/03/2021 19:59

Chinese - DH usually has a duck curry and fried rice. Or occasionally Beef with green pepper and black bean sauce. Sometimes a thai curry. He likes strong tasting stuff.

DS and I always have sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken chow mein and fried rice, which we share.

(I am bored to tears with it. DS is fairly unadventurous with food)

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 27/03/2021 20:00

Chinese - spring rolls, chicken and green peppers in black bean sauce and egg fried rice. I also buy curry sauce and salt & pepper chips for the next day!

Indian - popadoms, chicken and potato balti with either a garlic nan or pilau rice.

HilaryBriss · 27/03/2021 20:00

Indian - chicken dansak with pila rice and a garlic naan OR chicken biryani

Chinese - sweet & sour chicken balls with egg fried rice OR chicken chow mein OR crispy shredded chicken in garlic and chili sauce with egg fried rice.

Can you tell I like chicken Grin

Grace58 · 27/03/2021 20:01

Indian - I always order popadoms and pickle tray, a side of saag aloo and some pakoras. I like picky food!

TrialOfStyle · 27/03/2021 20:02

From an Indian typically

Garlic chilli chicken or lamb jalfrezi
Saag paneer (side portion)
Bhajis or pakora
Rice
Naan or paratha

Chinese I usually have no idea and pick things at random. The only consistent is chow mein (preferably the house special ones).

Serin · 27/03/2021 20:02

5 Adults
Crispy duck pancakes
Prawn toast
Sweet and sour chicken
Char sui chow mein
Beef in blackbean sauce
Shrimp and cashew nut.
2 fried rice
2 salt and pepper chips.
Prawn crackers are free.
£52 in our local takeaway. It's taken us years to get this order perfected and I know the order off by heart now! Occasional changes are always met with disappointment.

Tinydinosaur · 27/03/2021 20:02

Chinese.
Duck pancakes, crispy shredded beef, plain noodles, egg fried rice, schezuan vegetables, onion rings.

Indian.
Chicken tikka massala, Peshwari naan, Onion bhajis

ParkheadParadise · 27/03/2021 20:03

Indian
Chicken Biryani
Chicken Bhuna
Chicken Pakora
Garlic Nan
Fried Rice
And a large portion of chips.

HilaryBriss · 27/03/2021 20:03

Forgot to add, our Indian always comes with free popadoms/dips and the chinese with free prawn crackers or prawn toast, so no need to order those separately.

Iflyaway · 27/03/2021 20:04

Chinese - sweet and sour usually. I'm not so familiar with their kitchen.

Indian - chicken or prawn curry, dopiaza, korma, whatever takes my fancy.

Or veggie with naan bread. Samosas and lentil soup are delicious too.

TrialOfStyle · 27/03/2021 20:04

Cheese and garlic naan 🤤 (seriously it’s amazing the day after as well)

One of the restaurants around here does a cheese, garlic and chilli naan that I love, and mostly buy just to dunk in cold curry the following day Grin

Justmoveonin · 27/03/2021 20:05

Chinese: crispy beef and egg fried rice, veg spring rolls and prawn crackers. Sometimes sweet and sour chicken balls or chow mein

Indian: either chicken korma or tikka masala with pilau rice, chutney tray and pops, and plain naan

I’m hungry now

Bellyups · 27/03/2021 20:06

Indian
King prawn biryani
Meat samosa
Onion bhargi
Shamee kebab
Poppadoms
Plain naan
Mint sauce
Mango chutney

Chinese
Chicken chowmein
Sesame prawn toast
Ribs
Egg fried rice

Grace58 · 27/03/2021 20:06

Also sometimes chips because I like them. Multiple people have told me off because it’s not authentic or whatever, an Indian waiter once stood up for me and agreed that chips and curry are a good combination!!

user1493413286 · 27/03/2021 20:06

Singapore chow mien with satay sauce to put on top

Chicken tikka dhansak with rice ans naan

Lyricallie · 27/03/2021 20:07

Not a massive fan of the Chinese where I live so I usually get chips and curry sauce and chicken curry spring rolls (I embrace the beige dinner).

Curry: can't go wrong with a chicken tikka masala, garlic rice and a kolcha naan.
Oh and a wee side of saag paneer.

Imissmoominmama · 27/03/2021 20:08

Chinese- salt and chilli tofu and noodles with bean sprouts, with a tub of curry sauce (and crispy seaweed if I’m feeling decadent).

Indian- veg biryani and garlic naan.

jaundicedoutlook · 27/03/2021 20:08

Are the posts above referencing salt & pepper chips typos or is this a thing I’ve never seen before that everyone else knows about? Salt & pepper squid yes (hell yes) but chips?
