Last night I went up to bed to be greeted by this on my headboard (hopefully photo will work). I wasn’t brave enough to tackle it myself and my husband missed it so it ran over the bed and disappeared . I slept downstairs. I’m going to have to move aren’t I?! How long can they live ?!

Like most on here it seems, tarantula like ones are furry and shiny, the teeny jumping ones look cute enough. It's the bastard large scuttling bastard stupid fast bastard house spiders that can fuck right off!

We used to have a huge huntsman living in my old flat.
We called it pervy spider as it would scuttle though the walls and turn up in whatever room you were in or in the bathroom when you had a shower.

When we moved out we moved it to a nearby bush land.

@Sparklingbrook I had one about that size in my car. My own silly fault for parking under a tree and leaving the windows down in summer. Driving home, check the rear view mirror and there's the spider taking up all the space between the sun visors. It was rather huge. Had to duck into a side street and politely ask it to exit the vehicle.

Nearly ended up with a big python in the car once. He was so big he was totally blocking a single lane road - reached from edge to edge. Had to get out of the car and poke him in the tail (with a stick) to get him to move off. Silly me forgot to close the car door. Luckily he headed for a tree instead.

What I am petrified of is grasshoppers. I have a "grasshopper" scream that would see the cat and dog arriving to rescue me in seconds.

I would have asked it to drive me home. Grin
