We have made up a shoebox for charity and dh brought home a cute cuddly pink cat to go in it.
Dd (4) spotted it and has fallen in love with it. She cried and cried in her bed tonight because we said it is for the shoebox child 'who may never have had a cuddly toy to cuddle'...
We had a brief look at her current cuddlies to see if there was one in good enough nick to part with in its place but they are all definitely pre-used.
I am inclined to ignore the crying because if she sees it makes us give in, surely she will try it on for everything she wants, and we will have created a problem that needn't have been.
However, the crying was pitiful...broke my heart to hear it.
AIBU to harden my heart and ignore it?
