I'll start:

High waisted trousers with crop tops
Lip liner that goes over the top of cupid's bow

I asked about wood burners as opposed to people calling for aeroplanes to be banned. I wondered what the moral judgment was based on- whether there was any definitive science or logic or because it’s seen as a ‘middle class’ accessory.

I suppose in a similar fashion to the calls to ban 4x4 cars when so many are hybrid and little old diesel cars rattling around are not judged.

Cowbells · 27/03/2021 11:26

Agree with grey. Grey walls, sofas, kitchen units, carpets. People think it's soothing. It's lifeless and bloodless. We're looking at houses now and I instantly rule out all with brand new grey carpets. Grim.

Dead slug eyebrows.

Ridiculous pouty, cheeks sucked in selfies.

Instagramming your dinner.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 27/03/2021 11:27

I guess people are mentioning woodburners on this thread because they have got so fashionable whereas flights are just a constant?

kittycorner · 27/03/2021 11:32

Grey houses
Being a hincher (is that what they are called?)
Using all those chemicals associated with being a hincher
Those huge fake drawed on eyebrows
False eyelashes (sooo ridiculous looking on most)

Awe, that felt good.

Agree. It's as if cleaning is a hobby or something. Like... get a proper hobby and get your partners to clean, too! When did it become a thing to even upload a clean with me to YouTube? I absolutely despair at how thick some people are - dousing everywhere with chemicals for absolutely no good reason whatsoever. Which brings me to... zoflora. OPEN THE EFFING WINDOWS! Gosh, I don't know where that came from.
SmudgeButt · 27/03/2021 11:36

The colourful long talons some think are a good look instead of short clean finger nails.

PattyPan · 27/03/2021 12:09

@whetherpigshavewings

flying abroad for a holibobs.

we are hoping that it will take LESS than 5 years to resume holidays abroad! No chance on earth they'll disappear, or that people will ever be embarrassed about.

People will definitely be embarrassed in the future about the amount of flying that has gone on. Flygskam (flight shaming) is already a thing in Sweden.
ballsdeep · 27/03/2021 12:11

Big, massive bushy eyebrows which take up the whole of your fore head

Loads of make up

Fillers and Botox

areyoumeop · 27/03/2021 12:20

"Wall mounted TVs/screens. Partic above a fireplace.
Too high for viewing comfortably in a ‘standard’ sized room.
Cause unnecessary neighbour noise issues when on party wall."

we bought a house like this, redecorated and have one tv on a stand opposite the party wall, no TVs in bedrooms, as we use laptops, tablets . Neighbours think they have died and gone to heaven, they also don't mind we painted the roughcast grey instead of the weather faded and overflow water damaged off white it was before.

LadyWithLapdog · 27/03/2021 12:22

@MarieDelaere

I'd also imagine the nation might be over its love-in with Boris Johnson.
Let’s hope so and let’s hope much sooner than 5 years.

So is pickled herring - I don’t want that catching on over here either.

millionmilesaway · 27/03/2021 13:04

They only last a few months.

Badly drawn on eyebrows!

millionmilesaway · 27/03/2021 13:05

That was in response to someone who said people will be getting their lip filler removed!
StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/03/2021 13:07

@dayslikethese1

Overly complicated skincare routines-ppl will probably realise its making their skin go nuts using so many products so will go back to a more basic routine Contouring/highlighting-I reckon ppl will get sick of the effort and having stripes all over their face Gin obsession- I think its time for vodka to have its moment Grin
I thought rum was the new gin?
Tsubasa1 · 27/03/2021 13:08

Hopefully really large brows and lip filler!

UnderHisAye · 27/03/2021 13:08

Microblading.

No they don't look like real eyebrows. They look like barcodes tattooed onto your forehead.

LuaDipa · 27/03/2021 13:10

Eyebrows. I am old enough to remember pencil thin brows and thank goodness every day that my dm wouldn’t let me mess with mine!!

Shortiemyboo · 27/03/2021 13:10

Mum jeans

Lordamighty · 27/03/2021 13:11

Artificial grass
Wood burners
Hot tubs

pictish · 27/03/2021 13:20

@Okbussitout

Seems like this is just a bitch fest of things people think they're too good for. What a surprise to find this on here!
I know, it’s brilliant isn’t it?
whetherpigshavewings · 27/03/2021 13:26

a lot of it is about the current fashions.
You just have to look at pics taken 10-15 years ago to know they will become ridiculous.

pictish · 27/03/2021 13:26

Oh...animal filter selfies. I’m so glad that’s been and gone. I kept an open mind, told myself ‘it’s fine, they’re just having a bit of fun you miserable shrew’ but truth be told, I cringed for the repeat offenders of which there were many. So silly.

pictish · 27/03/2021 13:29

People seem to have given up on posting their daily steps total too. Maybe they worked out that no one gives a shit.

whetherpigshavewings · 27/03/2021 13:30

Just because you make up a new word doesn't mean people will change behaviour. A few will of course, but Sweden is not really frowning at visiting tourists funnily enough.

People have families, have holiday homes, have a life. We are not going to start going on ship and cruises when it's so much faster to fly.

Europe could improve their train system and relaunch night trains, that could possibly help.

Flying is not coming to an end, London airports are still very much going on with their extra runways! If nothing else, it's predicted that air traffic will increase. The tourism and travel industry need it anyway.

whetherpigshavewings · 27/03/2021 13:33

people will feel ashamed of the open abuse of overweight people ‘in the interests of their health’.

you can't state that someone is overweight without being accused of "fat shaming", it's the opposite of abuse, but we need to stop normalising unhealthy behaviour.
