@Mulletsaremisunderstood I don’t have a problem. But it’s not enough that you stink the Feminist boards with endless anti-trans threads, you come on every single damn thread to sneer some more. Just fucking stop it.

DeRigueurMortis · 27/03/2021 00:33

@LadyWithLapdog

Can you please get off with your constant anti-trans agenda? On every damn thread it’s turned into anti-trans.

No.

It's not anti-trans. It's about protecting the very notion of what a woman is and the fact that adult (and child) human females are discriminated against because of their sex.

Something they can't "opt" out of.

Like it or not it's one of the biggest issues facing woman at this time.

Sex based rights are being eradicated in sport, the workplace and social spaces (including prisons and DV shelters).

Empirical data is threatened by attempts (such as the census) to mis-record sex and thus invalidate sex based experiences.

Trans men/women deserve equality.

They are legally protected re: equally through the Gender Equality Act and rightly so.

Name me a single "right" that Trans people don't have above that of anyone else in the U.K.- go on, just one.....

So yes, you will see posts like mine on threads like this because I'm pissed off that so many people feel it's appropriate to "bin" women's rights and label us transphobic for doing so because it's an easy riposte to a complex discussion.

No.

You see on MN you can post on any thread.

You don't get to #noplatform or #nodebate or police threads.

It's also why MN isn't in the current mess Reddit is re: employing (and subsequently firing) an admin whose background they'd admitted they failed to appropriately check and making blanket posting restrictions as a result.

I understand that's hugely frustrating for you compared to the the policies of so many other social media platforms that delight in silencing women - so maybe stick them if MN's policy of allowing respectful debate /discussion offends you?

A few years back I was at a popular attraction in California. There was an unofficial photo spot and a normal tourist had no hope of getting to it. There was a huge line of teenage girls / young women, all letting their hair down and brushing it while waiting, and then all doing the same poses. One looking down, one looking in the distance as if lost in thought, one standing with their back to the camera, Hope tilted and hands up. It’s so boring!!! grin Yet funny in the masses. I just hope that this kind of SM fades. Fat chance of that.

Last time I saw this sort of thing was in front of the plaque for Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam. I hope these posing morons feel ashamed when they look back at their internet history in a few years' time, but I won't hold my breath.

@seatofmars

Lefty sisters who were born in the 60's / 70's / 80's being called 'anti-trans' by precocious millennials.
If they're born in the 80s then they are millennials
BatshitCrazyWoman · 27/03/2021 05:21

I agree. I tried to find a birthday card for a friend recently, and so many of them had references to alcohol (neither she nor I drink).

BatshitCrazyWoman · 27/03/2021 05:29

Quote didn't work 🙄 I was agreeing with a PP who mentioned drinking.

PeggyHill · 27/03/2021 06:05

Nauseatingly trite sayings/phrases printed on everything.

Yes! I'm glad others have noticed this.

I actually do drink but both of my parents are sober alcoholics and it is very difficult to find birthday cards for them that aren't wildly inappropriate.
