To audition for a film even though I’ve never acted?

Flyer calling for people with my accent to apply for a new project. No acting experience required. Well known director.
My last acting role was my school play when I was 11 years old as an extra 😂

They want a 1 minute video sent in ... it seems so unlikely but what if? Also should I mention my autism on the clip or would that look too try hard?

Argh!! Always dreamt of being an actress but I always knew it was a fantasy, this would be the first time I ever actually tried it! I’m a frumpy, 49 year old woman

This sounds very thick, but it says on the flyer to label the video with your name.

@LunaNorth I would presume it means to put it in the subject title when sending the video? You could also introduce yourself in the first few seconds of the video?

That’s what I thought but they seem very insistent. I wondered if it might be more complicated than that.

That’s what I’m wondering, This is England was set in Grimsby I believe? If it IS the gallows pole that would be set in North Yorkshire. I’m from Hull so my accent is very unique “Hull” 😂 might not be quite what they’re after

My accent has softened because I’ve got used to talking a bit “posher” for work but I’m sure I could scrape the real me back ... I was brought up on Bransholme so actually started off with a pure Bransholme accent haha

Hull came to mind actually, as being very different to a Ryedale accent which is very different to a wezzie accent. I'm hoping it's not just a generic northern accent they're after.

Are there any extremely Yorkshire phrases or expressions? I'd try to get in a few of those in the video. And maybe make your story about it something local just to further emphasis that you're local!

Can't comment on the acting bit at all but good luck. With regards to the name, I would rename the video file something like yourname_auditionvideo as well as putting your details in the email unless there are more specific instructions.
