Fucking Parking fine

Have to pay by tonight to get the “discounted” rate at £60 instead of £100. I only pulled in to a nearby closed hotel car park to take a call for 15mins.

Has anyone just ignored a fine or successfully appealed

You need to pay and they are enforceable. My husband is an enforcement officer and gives out these fines. The company he works for has taken many people to court and they end up paying back up to £2000

Can people stop calling this a fine please? It’s not a fine, it’s a speculative parking charge.

Advise used to be to ignore these charges, and they would go away. Sadly not the case anymore.

Have a search on the internet and you’ll find some template letters you can use. Basically you need to argue that the level of the charge bears no relation to their loss of income and costs involved of you parking there for a few minutes.

Sorry!

I think YABU.

I guess you can appeal, but at the end of the day, you were still on their private car park.

Do pay it though, and then appeal it. Don't let it escalate. Pick your battles in life.

Hope you manage to get your money back. Smile[/quote]
Bad advice. Appeal using one of the template letters available online, but do not pay!

After Beavis this is no longer relevant.

I got one at my gym. Same parking eye bs.

Follow the process and they’ll cancel
It

They know there are lots of chumps who won’t question it

My Son broke down in the hospital car park-flat battery. Husband drove out and jump started his car, only there 10 mins, forgot to pay. Got a £40 pcn.
