Any suggestion how to stop neighbours kids running on our wall? It's really disrespectful and dangerous.
Asked them to stop and it carries on

Put an iron fence on top? Or just relax a bit?

catsandchaos · 20/03/2021 17:47

Relax when they are running along it and screaming ?

Wrought iron decoration?

Givemeabreak88 · 20/03/2021 17:48

Put something to stop them? Who cares really

BigSandyBalls2015 · 20/03/2021 17:48

Spikes?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 20/03/2021 17:48

Smear it with superglue. The little fuckers will soon stop.

Clymene · 20/03/2021 17:49

Shoot them. Running on your wall?! Angry

steelserenade · 20/03/2021 17:49

How high is the wall?

Sforsh49 · 20/03/2021 17:50

Anti climb paint. It's black and greasy AF. They won't do it again

MaMaD1990 · 20/03/2021 17:50

Water gun...

SpongebobNoPants · 20/03/2021 17:51

Is a low front garden wall?
I’d definitely get some fancy decorative iron spikes and drill them in

SpongebobNoPants · 20/03/2021 17:51

@MaMaD1990 I like your suggestion best hahahaha

Alexandernevermind · 20/03/2021 17:52

Be careful, if there are loose bricks they may try legal action if their little cherubs get injured.

LolaSmiles · 20/03/2021 17:52

Either put something on top to make it difficult, or accept their parents are allowing their children to do something risky.

You're not responsible for the children doing something dangerous and I'm not entirely convinced they're being disrespectful. Annoying yes, but some kids walking on a wall isn't disrespectful.

Tangogolf55 · 20/03/2021 17:52

Anti climb paint?

VettiyaIruken · 20/03/2021 17:53

We put a little picket fence on top and grew very thorny roses through it. That stopped them.
I felt a bit guilty because what kid doesn't love running along walls? But it distressed my then young children (asd) and obviously they took priority.

BoJoHoNo · 20/03/2021 17:53

Do you know who their parents are? I'd likely speak to them if you can. There are options such as barbed wire, anti climb paint, anti loiterring alarms, but you'd need to look into the legalities of this (whether you need warning signs etc).

StanfordPines · 20/03/2021 17:53

Back in the old days people used to concrete broken class on top of walls!

Reinventinganna · 20/03/2021 17:54

Push them off

WorraLiberty · 20/03/2021 17:55

Right so you've asked the kids to stop but have you spoken to their parents?

Zig4zag · 20/03/2021 17:57

Vaseline

goldielockdown2 · 20/03/2021 18:00

I couldn't be curmudgeonly about such a short term problem. They'll soon be at the age where they wouldn't be seen dead having fun in public Grin

TheGumption · 20/03/2021 18:03

Throw things at them like Total Wipeout

BlankTimes · 20/03/2021 18:06

Can you post a picture of a similar wall so you get advice that's practical?

Without seeing the setup. I think I'd put trellis on the wall. Making sure it was as flush as possible to the outer edge and XXXXX way on so it didn't look like little ladders.

I am not sure that that is right - that OP is not responsible if they do risky behaviour on her wall. Under Occupiers Liability, a householder should keep their premises safe -so technically even a burglar could sue if he broke a leg on your badly maintained path, for example. So if the wall belongs to OP, it needs to be in good condition. But in the real world - just put something on it to deter them. Have you spoken to the parents about your safety concerns? not to mention the fact that they might damage your wall?
