Any suggestion how to stop neighbours kids running on our wall? It's really disrespectful and dangerous.
Asked them to stop and it carries on

@Givemeabreak88 I guess the mums would care when the little darlings end up falling off.

Amorousfrog · 20/03/2021 18:18

Razor wire, vicious guard dogs...

corlan · 20/03/2021 18:20

Get a nerf gun and shoot the little beggars as they run across- hours of entertainment!

PanamaPattie · 20/03/2021 18:23

Plant a spikey hedge - like berberis.

Givemeabreak88 · 20/03/2021 18:26

Well they obviously don’t care if they do otherwise they wouldn’t let them do it in the first place

TidyDancer · 20/03/2021 18:30

I would go for the iron spikes or something similar. Not sure you'll stop this otherwise. It is annoying though.

If her wall is safe as a wall then I don't see how she has any obligation to ensure nobody has an accident when using it for something other than it's intended purpose.

The burglar and the poorly maintained path has to be wind up. Has that been tested in law? Does it make a distinction between front drives and back yards?

Apologies if that sounded snipey btw. It's not intended. I'm in disbelief that someone could potentially sue for pissing around on someone else's property.

mrlevelheaded · 20/03/2021 18:45

molybdenum grease (black grease) blobbed on near where they climb on and off. Not enough to cause a slip but enough to ruin their clothes, then let their own parents do the rest

Amorousfrog · 20/03/2021 18:46

Maybe the neighbours had happy memories of running on walls as kids I know, nowadays children should just stay in so we can moan about their square eyes and obesity problems

Blondiney · 20/03/2021 18:47

Spikes or dog shit.

Georgyporky · 20/03/2021 18:52

This happened near where I once lived.

Neighbour smeared excrement along the wall - soon stopped it !

BoJoHoNo · 20/03/2021 18:54

Maybe the neighbours had happy memories of running on walls as kids I know there's very limited forms of entertainment right now, but...Somehow, in 5 years time, I can't see the kids happily reminiscing about that time they ran along catsanchaos's wall! I'm sure they can find other ways to occupy their time that don't involve annoying their neighbours and potentially damaging someone's property or themselves.

Keeva2017 · 20/03/2021 19:11

I think @TheGumption has the right idea Grin

flippertygibbit · 20/03/2021 19:13

Anti Climb paint - after all if they can climb on it so can a burglar if you feel you need to give them a reason. Can't stand kids that don't respect others property.........nor parents who don't teach them to either!

CantBeAssed · 20/03/2021 19:15

Im in NI...i believe water canons are useful in these circumstancesGrin

GeorgiaGirl52 · 20/03/2021 19:29

Take a photo and put it on local facebook. Ask if anyone knows who these hooligans are who are destroying your property? Imply that the parents must have put them up to it to start a lawsuit when one of them falls.

Ideasplease322 · 20/03/2021 19:40

What age are the children, how high is the wall, how often do they do this?

Do they live next door

Roszie · 20/03/2021 19:41

Cat shit all along it

InFiveMins · 20/03/2021 19:43

Definitely anti climb paint

AlexaNeverListens · 20/03/2021 19:54

Barbed wire.

Hankunamatata · 20/03/2021 20:06

Mum had same problem but with teens sitting on the wall which is only 3ft from sitting room window. They just put iron railings across the top

Hankunamatata · 20/03/2021 20:07

Even wooden trellis in a pinch would do

Ohdoleavemealone · 20/03/2021 20:18

This used to happen to my parents wall. They got iron spikes.

They put up with it for years but the wall is short and when the kids stand on it they look straight into their living room.

Jumpers268 · 20/03/2021 20:23

How tall is the wall? My son walks along a wall on his way back from school (it's maybe a foot tall). I've never thought about telling him to stop. Maybe I should.....
