Any suggestion how to stop neighbours kids running on our wall? It's really disrespectful and dangerous.
Asked them to stop and it carries on

Of course children shouldn’t be playing on neighbours property, unless they’ve been invited to. It absolutely is disrespectful to use someone else’s property as a playground after being specifically asked not to.

Kids playing outside in the street, fair enough, even if they’re annoying they have the right to do it as long as they’re being reasonably sensible. Climbing up peoples walls though, going in peoples gardens, not usually ok. And yes, we all did naughty or cheeky things as kids, but we were told off for it - not smiled at endearingly with excuses made for us! Even if we thought Mrs Benson was a misery guts for not letting us climb the tree in her front garden, we didn’t just expect to get to do it anyway!

We also had kids who played on our garden wall when I was growing up, who didn’t grow into teens to embarrassed to be seen having fun, but rather teens who left our wall covered in graffiti and litter.

@Jumpers268 I'd say if it is someones garden wall then you absolutley should tell them to stop. It is someones property. Do you allow him to walk accross peoples front lawn?

Jumpers268 · 20/03/2021 20:49

@Ohdoleavemealone it's the wall to the front of a block of flats. But no I don't let him walk through peoples' gardens.

plastic spikes they put up eveywhere to stop birds roosting? Can buy them online or DIY store

PaddingtonsSister · 20/03/2021 21:17

If its a front wall on the pavement it would not bother me if they were walking on it at all

LockdownCheeseToastie · 20/03/2021 21:20

Gorse bushes

catsandchaos · 21/03/2021 16:52

That's exactly how it is. I've moved some potted greenery for now to block access.
New railings sound be £££ - they were removed in WW2 to be melted down for tanks /guns etc

But no one is asking whether it would bother you or not , the OPis asking for help in how to stop it
Whammyyammy · 21/03/2021 17:06

Coat the top of the wall with clear silicone or baby oil. Once they've slipped off a few times..... they'll learn.
If their parents complain, say you've sealed YOUR wall to protect it from water ingress and why our THEIR kids running on it?

WhereHaveAllTheGoodTimesGone · 21/03/2021 20:02

Smashed glass and razor wire on top of the wall always good. Except might be bad for cat and fox paws

catsandchaos · 21/03/2021 20:03

Rather harsh suggestions

I am confused! Who is the" problem neighbour" here? The one with kids having a bit of outdoor activity and fresh air during hard times for us all or the one who is complaining about about a wall?

tellmetologoffIamaMNaddict · 21/03/2021 20:39

poo

TitusPullo · 21/03/2021 20:46
