and a bit bored...what are you doing right now on this Friday night and what are your weekend plans?
I’m sat on the sofa at home in Portugal, watching Corrie, eating Lidl chocolate mousse and crisp & mayo butties (Friday night or my eating crap night!) haven’t drank since April, so crisps are my thing.
Toddler Dd has gone to bed with Dp.
Need ideas for what to do for a lockdown weekend 🤔 maybe more painting, picnic in woods with dog and Dd, something nice to cook 🤷🏻‍♀️

Living in Canada is much like living in England. Our laws and public policy are similar. Our parliamentary system is modeled on the UK.

I was born here, as were both my parents.

I live in Vancouver which is very multicultural. Lots of people have come to Canada from Asia, especially China, but also many other places.

Vancouver is a beautiful city but we do have troubles just like everywhere. We have a particular issue with homelessness related to mental health and drug issues. We are trying very hard as a nation to reconcile with our indigenous peoples who suffered at the hands of the colonials and are still suffering from intergenerational trauma.

We have had lockdowns like everywhere really. I really miss eating lunch out on the weekend as we can enjoy so many different ethnic flavours.

I am proud to be Canadian and like living here, but I would happily move to England also. My DH is originally from England. Many of my family traditions are British too as my Dad had English and Scottish ancestry generations back. They originally arrived in North America basically with the pilgrims but left for Canada when the American war of Independence happened because they were loyal to the Crown. Canada is still part of the Commonwealth and the Queen is technically our head of state.

I visited Lisbon on a cruise ship a few years ago and loved it. The huge sculpture on the water celebrating Portugal's explorers was breathtaking. We rode on a tram and were served those lovely little tarts. The young women who came onboard to serve us were charming and lovely.

Hopefully when this pandemic is over we can travel again.
