Dilemma, have the COVID jab this weekend or prioritise a work commitment. WWYD?

So, thank you for reading on. I would appreciate your views to help me sort out my priorities and answer my dilemma.

I'm a school leader, working to lead a school other than my own. I am expecting OFSTED to call on Monday, to inspect the school Tuesday.

The school has required significant support which I am providing.

I have my jab booked for Sunday.

My partner is CEV.

My worry is if I suffer side effects from the jab, this could affect my ability to lead the school through the inspection. Inspections are stressful enough when feeling 100%, never mind when not.
It would also leave me with a real sense of letting the school and colleagues down.

What would you do, delay the jab or take the risk on having side effects which could affect the inspection?
(No anti vac comments please, this is about my commitment to a school by having the jab delayed, I will be having the jab).

Sorry, posted too early - do keep Sunday’s appointment. You’ll probably feel fine!

Definitely have the jab. I've had mine and tbh I had an achy arm and felt tired a couple of days later.

Your CEV husband is more important than an Ofsted inspection.

I am a teacher but not teaching this academic year and it has helped me to rethink priorities (but at the same time understand how education consumes you).

Your health and family should come before work.

Have the vaccine OP.

Ugh I’m sorry OP.

My brain says ‘get the jab’ what if you catch covid / pass it on to vulnerable others. My heart says you’re probably going to feel a bit poorly for several days after the jab and it is not fair on you to be doing an Ofsted inspection in that situation.

Like everyone else, I’ll tell you to get the jab. But if it was me - honestly - I would find a way to not to both the inspection and the jab at the same time, either the jab would move or someone else from school would manage the inspection if needed. The first step would be to attempt to shift the inspection date, I guess that’s v unlikely but that would be my starting point. Then I’d try to find a staff member who could cover for me if needed. And if both those fell through I would probably try to move the jab appointment.

I’m sorry you’re in this situation it’s strange the inspection is going ahead at this time. As if schools weren’t busy enough!

@Anothername45

All done and a positive 'taking effective action to...' OFSTED judgement.

Still feel rubbish from my jab, but got through on paracetamol.
Only two hours sleep last night worrying about the inspection.

But all done and it is the weekend, early night for me tonight.

Thank you for your support on here, it has been really welcomed this week.

Good stuff, OP! Have a relaxing weekend, now the stress is done.
