AIBU to think we haven't a chance in hell of seeing change when people like this exist?

Just browsing Facebook and this popped up on my timeline. I've attached a screen shot. Made me feel a bit sick if I'm honest. How the hell as a society can we begin to see any change in regards to male violence against women when women like this exist? I'm used to seeing men victim blaming but to see such a comment from a woman defending male violence made me realise how far from change we really are.

A world where women blame women for male violence. The "educate your sons" quote doing the rounds, who is that aimed at? Mothers. It's Mother's that, in general, carry the burden of raising children.

She's a troll. Fb is full of them

RoseRedRoseBlue · 18/03/2021 19:19

To be honest, that looks like the post of a troll rather than anyone who seriously believes what they are saying.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/03/2021 19:21

Troll. And I could call myself Consuala Banana Hammock, doesn't mean it's true.

Aprilx · 18/03/2021 19:21

That is clearly not a genuine comment for heavens sake. It is either somebody being sarcastic, or a troll as previous posters said.

WorraLiberty · 18/03/2021 19:23

Oh FFS that's clearly a troll

Why are you spreading this further on the internet and giving her/him the attention they crave? Hmm

Gingernaut · 18/03/2021 19:29

The fact that someone considers it funny to put that under an awful post like that makes me despair.

With people like that in the world, we won't have anything nice.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/03/2021 19:36

I would argue that someone like that is really unlikely to have had a happy, healthy childhood. So people like that are one of the reasons to keep fighting.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 18/03/2021 19:45

I think (hope) that's a troll, but it's also pretty shit that the Sun described her as fighting with her ex, rather than being brutally assaulted by him.

Aracanum · 18/03/2021 19:50

She seemed genuine to me. But that aside, a woman still posted that comment on an article about male violence. There's a whole lot wrong with that.

Troll or not, people need to call shit like this out. Every time. Every single time.

ReverendRicketyCricket · 18/03/2021 19:53

Of course it's a troll and it's almost certainly not even a woman. And what WorraLiberty said - stop spreading shit like this.

LyndzB · 18/03/2021 19:55

What makes you believe it's a woman? Anyone can set up a profile and call themselves what they like.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/03/2021 19:59

Nope. Angry face emoji and a comment bump it. Ignore. Every single time.

It's just some sad bloke angry-wanking in his mum's basement to all the attention he's getting. Just ignore.

GetLost · 18/03/2021 20:22

'Emma Johnson' I dunno, that kind of name always sounds fake. Maybe it's a Currant Bun journo?

subsy1 · 18/03/2021 21:54

Even the sub head "... after an explosive fight with ex". shares the fault rather than identifying that he beat her up!
