Just found out Simon Mayo is back on the radio at Drivetime

Nothing against Sara Cox but I just couldn't get on with her show (btw she's still at Radio 2, Simon Mayo's on Greatest Hits Radio now). It's annoying having adverts but it still feels all warm and fuzzy and familiar Smile

AIBU to feel disproportionately happy?!

Sara's lovely, it's Zoe that needs to go. Although she has forced me back to radio and I love Greg James. Never thought I'd be back there in my 40s!

I think it might on analogue but I'm not sure, I shout at Alexa to get mine!

I love Sarah. I agree with pp about Zoe though. She's ok on strictly it takes 2 but I can't cope with her in the mornings.

YANBU OP. I havent enjoyed a drive time on any show so much since The Great Radio 2 Drivetime Debacle! The partnership with Matt still works perfectly too.

I've only managed to find it online atm. Which is a shame because I will want to listen in the car

Apart from confessions, which I really enjoyed, I found the rest of the show not particularly amazing. I like Sara Cox, perfectly happy to listen to her.

ZB is also fine and a maaaasive improvement on bloody Chris Evans.

Zoe gives me the rage, she waffles on so much I prefer silence on my drive to work now and when I'm at home I listen to Chris Evans.

Wish I could listen to Simon in the car, I like Sara Cox but it's not the same and I would love confessions to come back!

OMG I must check it out. I have nothing against Sara, not really, it’s harmless fun... but I sometimes listen to her inane nonsense and silly competitions and think, ah, remember when Simon would be doing Confessions at this time, or interviewing someone famous properly for half an hour or so, or doing the Book Club.

It sometimes feels like Radio 2 drive time not so much dumbed down but completely lost the plot.Sad

I guess Simon Mayo is an improvement, but realistically won't being a radio DJ die out eventually? A lot of DJ banter seems a bit too contrived for the younger generation.

Some of the rubbish they talk seems so pointless, maybe I am just too cynical.

Oh I am so glad I saw this, will be tuning in, I miss Simon!
I can’t believe Steve Wright is still on, and radio 2 on a Sunday is awful. Wish we could hear more Sue Perkins, she superb as a stand in. Would love to hear more Rylan Clark and I love Dermot’s and Liza’s show on Saturday!

I miss Simon - I have been listening to him on Scala radio for the last year or so. And they have just changed their presenters around because of him leaving. It's a shame because I really liked their old daytime line up and it now has a Simon shaped hole in it. I do really like some of their other presenters too though :)

I actually like listening to Zoe in the mornings.

Saturdays are my absolute fave. Claudia, gambon, rylan, the Liza.

Shame Liza is on on for 2 hours tho. Her show goes way too fast.

I was disproportionately upset when he left, I used to love that show on my way home. Really pleased he is back, but a shame on digital only as I won’t be able to listen in the car when I go back to work
