...even in November?

I haven't taken my DDs to an indoor swimming pool since they were potty trained so I went to get them a grown up swimming costume to replace their reusable swim nappy things.

Now I appreciate that swimwear is seasonal, so I was expecting a limited choice, but to find NOTHING in M & S, Next and Mothercare did surprise me a little. Do kids not still swim indoors in November?

Space for Christmas tat is obviously at a premium, but to be at the expense of something that is often an integral part of an active and healthy child's lifestyle just seems to be so wrong.

Or am I overreacting?

Sports shop

The supermarkets usually have a few all year round - often reduced out of season. Worth a look while you're shopping.

I forgot to say that I did eventually find a costume for each of them in Primark, and for 50p, too

I did also try a sports shop, and that just seemed to be full of designer tracksuits for the little ones.

Next and M & S do have some lovely costumes online (had a peek last night) so I was surpised not to see any of these instore.

Woolies are good for swim costumes

worth asking as they usually put them 'out the back' for the winter! Same with sun tan lotion. Takes up valuable storage space apparently otherwise. I've asked before in Boots and Mothercare and someone went to get for me.

Agree with you CharlieFairhead, you are not being unreasonable, especially when more and more families are choosing to take "sunshine" holidays out of the traditional summer season, and of course as you mention for the healthy activity of swimming.

Glad you got a bargain in Primark

I have been trawling everywhere looking for a swimsuit and am extremely annoyed about this too. Have a 5 year old boy who is in desperate need of swim shorts for his lessons and have tried everywhere. Sainsbury have them but he is a tad skinny and they fall off him!!!

I got a brand new one for DD off ebay yesterday. She is still very little and there were quite a lot to choose from. could it be worth a look?

I am having the same problem trying to find school Polo shirts for DD after she covered them in marker pen. Seems shops only sell school wear in August/September now. God knows what you do if your kids grow in the year between!
